Diamond Miner Not Crashing

Hey there just was hoping for some insight here.

I bought a 12 inch diamond miner and tried a cold crash method that didn’t seem to work out so i had to empty the miner and do jar tech the rest of the way.

I decided to just pour into the diamond miner and place the miner in an oven at 98F
But I’m noticing that its been about 5 days and i still have no diamonds despite the pressure being at a consistent 80 psi.

Why do i have no diamonds forming? Is there a step I’m skipping? Can someone give me some insight on why I"m not creating diamonds in the miner?

Thanks

Too much solvent in your solution to crystallize at 98f. Cold crashing needs agitation to work well. concentrate your solution slowly by removing solvent in small increments until you see crystallization.

is that something i can do by off gassing the miner here and there? @ChicagoBurbsCannabis

Most definitely. However, sitting at 80psi at 98f seems like you have a lot of solvent to get rid of, so you may want to recover it.

Ok got it. Maybe next time i need to recover more before pouring to miner. I’ll try to save this one. Thank you for your help!

If you (still) don’t understand why you got this result, and have successfully mined in jars, here is a hint:

Canning jars are designed to hold vacuum, not pressure. They work because they leak.

Consider imitating your CLS: set up a second (ideally chilled) vessel to “burp” into so you can recover the excess solvent from your miner(s).

I also suggest searching on “metastable” and “Ostwald ripening”…because what you attempted indicates you could use a better handle on the subject.

Digging into the materials given to school kids wouldn’t hurt.
