But I thought thca was legal…the vendor swore it was hemp

This guy runs a farm/dispensaries selling THCa flower, which FDACS is actively seizing, but still donates $100k to defeat the rec bill?

edit: looks like 125 products seized between two Chronic Guru stores not too long ago, at least several pounds of flower

It was a ban on THCA not a rec bill god bless America 100k is cheap.

The rec bill in FL is pretty widely criticized by people because it is overwhelmingly in favor of MSOs.

For me, it’s the no home grow. My dad is a gardener who doesn’t smoke any more, and all he’s ever wanted was to be able to grow some good pot and gift it to people. I think it’s pretty short sighted to give these corporations more power (especially given access to THCa hemp) in exchange to be able to shop in a dispensary.

People should be able to be arrested for simple possession still because they wouldn’t be able to grow at home?

How is that any different than now?

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) seemed to tacitly acknowledge that part of the reason he recently vetoed a bill to ban intoxicating hemp products was because he hopes the industry will aid in his campaign opposing a marijuana legalization ballot initiative

I wouldn’t say that, rather I would say I want a fair rec bill that doesn’t heavily favor the same MSOs that already control all of the medical cannabis in the state.

Ha I heard about this groupchat, not surprised to see that it leaked

The introductory message provides a bank routing number for the Republican Party of Florida. Several messages claim the Governor’s Office was closely monitoring the account to see which individuals and businesses were donating funds.

“His office has real-time access to this list…and is seeing these names and every contribution,” noted another post, written by Ernie Ciaccio, an owner of Honest PP&D, which describes itself as one of the largest hemp distributors in the state. “Get on this list, I promise you it’s one of the lists you want to be on.”

Subsequent posts by members of the group outline the dollar amount.

“We have to pay $5 million to keep our end of the veto,” another hemp executive wrote.

The posts maintain the money would be used to fight Amendment 3, the ballot initiative that would legalize recreational marijuana in Florida.

“We’ve been told that this is a 2-part deal,” the post explains. “Come up with money to fight our biggest enemies [marijuana] monopolies. Alley-oop reasonable legislation to secure longevity for our industry in Florida.”

Interesting short read about a case in Ohio in which an employee was fired for consuming a hemp product that (allegedly) caused him to have a false positive for THC.

looks like the employee settled after that ruling. pretty good for employees using hemp. I wonder how this ruling could affect THC dui’s if, hemp is claimed

I would assume in a DUI case they would compare actual blood concentrations to the theoretical limit of the cannabinoids in the product you claim caused the intoxication.

Something similar happened in Michigan a couple years back
