Hah! Dual O-rings on a standard taper joint? You almost never see this…BUT, I encountered them at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, where they were used in glass lyophiliser setups for analyzing tritium (radioactive hydrogen isotope used in thermonuclear explosives) in soils. They seem to work pretty well, and resist getting “stuck.” My local glass experts always crack a smile when they see them!
