Pff ok well
Who am i to advise
The idea of making a smoke product is good but one needs to really see the product
As for market i am one of the doomsday believers and i would go easy in spending more than neccesarry on the biomass but for a smoke product one needs to make it pretty for the eye
I am also pretty confident that indoor crops will hit this smoking market that will be hard to beat
Any way do you have any pics of your bud s
What cbd % is expected ?
Are trichromes visible ?
I need to get an update picture. This one was taken a couple weeks ago when the buds were just starting.
Yes trichomes are visible and we are expecting 14+% cbd on the biomass. I’m assuming the cured bud would be much higher.
Well who ever grows knows how to
Looking good
I am a little spooked by the amount and size of the leaves in the buds
But as you said this is an early pic
I will contemplate on this a while and get back to you
Realize that the flower sale is a slower market in general than the concenteates and that it is very likely you will need to store for an extended time
Cbd content will not get much higher deu to curing sorry to say
Also any smoke product should in general not get much below 8% humidity for it will be to dry
Your ventillation in the drying process must be good for damn they are saturated with moister make sure that
There is draft in the highest parts of your drying area
Quiet a job awaits you good luck
Yes, it is a scary big project. 90,000 plants 5 to 8 feet tall.
But we have a big multi-generation family trying to pull it off. We normally can get the impossible done, so hoping for the best! ![]()
Our organic certifier said it was the nicest looking crop they had seen in Oregon.
That and being probably the oldest certified organic hemp farm in the country. (48 years) We are hoping will help us find a good market.
That is indeed a very. Good pitch the organic part
Actually amazed by. The no seeds line you said
Was confident that in a state like oregon this would have been close to inpossible good job
Keep an eye on the wheather forcast
Chloraphyll is what you smell when you cut grass
This is why improperly cured bud smells like grass, because the chloraphyll and things inside the plant dont have time to fully break down if you dry your bud too quick and dont give it time to cure.
Kingofthekush420, That is good info.
I’m still not sure if I keep the material just the right moisture to continue the cures chemical breakdown. Is the burping necessary? ie. letting in oxygen and letting out, I’m guessing CO2 and terps.
If burping only accomplishes regulating humidity, then I can stick a humidipack in the bag and not have to burp thousands of bags every day.
The interesting link you posted earlier also didn’t fully answer this question. It made it sound like regulating humidity and temperature was the only important part to allow the curing to take place. But then at the end of the paragraph, it mentions needing to vent and let fresh air in to cure properly. But did not elaborate on why that was necessary.
Our container solution and associated bags handles the burping automatically without having to open each bag. I’LL have numbers for you tomorrow.
I would never use a humidipack, all the bud I’ve tried that’s been cured with one of those in there smells and tastes kinda funky.
Nothing beats the old fashion way IMO
That is good to know, and discouraging at the same time. ![]()
Curious if you have noticed or experienced between the two different types of humidipacks.
The more popular Bovida packs are salt based and the newer Integra packs are glycerine based.
Wondering if one gives off a flavor more than the other.
Your fan leaves say your about flushed. I also use that term to indicate a switch to water for the last 2 weeks. I agree, you’ve got to have the visual indication of yellowing fan leaves. That tells me the soil is no longer feeding the plant…which to my understanding is the goal
I only use ph 6.4 water the last 2 weeks. I dont do a traditional flush/drowning of the plants.
Autumning off tek
Exactly
Force the plant to use the stored nutes.
I also feed heavily. 1480ppm on a feed/amendment/feed/amendment/feed/amendment cycle. 1400ppm co2 as well (fuzzy logic master controller). I dictate the grow environment.
64 days from flip is chop day, every run, the last 5 yrs
Looking good my bro.
I don’t flush at all, just dial back the nutrient the last 2 weeks.
Room with some different strains.
I just got to water for the last 2 weeks, like you. I’m getting there with my grow. Just added co2 and am sealing up the room now.
BG305, no flush, just lighter on the nutes…but you get the yellowing of the leaves drawing the stored nutrients?
I love seeing little glimpses of yalls grows…and getting little bits of yalls grow experience.
If your heading down the co2 route, DONT LISTEN to the grow forum jockeys. Co2 does NOT mean you can run temps over 86. That’s utter bs!
I’m using co2 to seal the room. I probably cannot afford to keep the room at 1250 to 15000ppm for all of the flowering cycle. I’ve got a 50lb and 20 lb cylinder so we’ll see how far that gets me.
I’m not dealing with heat stress, I usually keep my room at 80-83 degrees running gavitas. but I just got an air cooled hood, and modded a gavita to fit…air cooled hood are going to be a life saver
The pictures posted in this tread are a good example of bud with little leaf as you can see the don t have much
And the leaves start to pop only about 33% from the top
These bud s are easy to make estethically (visual) pretty buds
This with nice visual trichromes are appetizing bud s for the smoker
So i haven t seen yours in there last week but it sure is part of it s valeu
