When you operate at these temperatures you sublimate a lot of moisture from the air into the biomass depending on absolute atmospheric humidity, just like your freezer does.
When the trichomes are intakt before flash freezing, ostwald ripening takes a long time like weeks, at least days as it can only happen via resublimation.
Dry ice=CO (in solid form sublimates at -78C.
Can not get much warmer without exploding.)
Ice=H2O (19 modifications of different cristal structures known)
At this temperature ice can tribocharge because it has no more free charge carriers. Not so at 0F, it is looose.
What pressure you live at to melt ice at room temperature? 600 Mpa.
Somebody, please cut to sieves by pressing the tube on it and cut with a scissor from a pize of mesh for 5dollar with equal wheights?
You tailorize this!
This term is wrongly used here. It would be to absorption of the moisture content from the relative humidity. Even with washing a humid work area is your worst enemy.
Looking at your posts and trying to decipher them is quite literally like looking at a mix of thumper, hashfishfiletdude, and some ramblings only that of capt. kudos to you for doing some research though and attempting to learn you some stuff. Don’t let our harshness put that aside. Once you grasp the straws you’ll find something to sip on
Tbh each resin is going to have a different density due to the array of compounds present within said resin. I’d feel a batch would have similar homogenous density throughout comparative to another. Yes they will be close, but alas that’s like trying to measure terpenes and resin comparatively without knowing the exact %’s tac. One could take a density scale and go about the formulation carefully to determine a scale so to speak, but this is also very dependent upon how well the grower did during their cycle and post processing to leave you with a resin gland to extract how seen fit.
From what a quick search entailed it seems to be a 12-13mm. Iirc it can range from 1mm-18 or 19 in the larger outdoor heads. Bot all resin is made the same or preserved as such either. If the question still stands about how dense a hash cake may be, shit go press a few and find out your median range for the multitude of packed bags being pressed of the same strain giving you a baseline to start with.
I just want to get a rough comparrison between the density of the rosin(slightly above 1g/ml) and the density of the trichome hulls in the spent press cake to estimate the sedimentation.
Unless you’re quite literally doing a density weight comparison of a singular micron at 10g for a specific plausible median weight that you have also used a static separator tek to remove said stalks then weighed both for comparison. Thats the only way i see you getting this answer. It’s not viable info that one cares to express as most will be pressing a bulk of resin with varying stalk and head sizes and what other particulates may have you. You’re grasping for air with a straw that looks like flute.
You’re asking all of these questions and you have an answer for absolutely fucking everything anyone says. Why don’t you just go do it then? Densities vary based upon the skill of the grower, climate, strain, terpene content, etc. - YOU WILL NOT ACCURATELY FIGURE THIS OUT. This is a fool’s errand. This is the same reason why preconfigured ‘recipes’ have no merit on rosin presses, everything is different, nothing is ever the same exact PSI…ever - unless you’re talking about the density of the actual metal plate itself. That is probably the only thing you’ll accurately guess the density of, otherwise you are just distracting yourself from actually doing the task.
Don’t forget, I’m a german..
Many people tell me to do things but true is that is best to write it down and forget about it for the moment.
My living situation is inacceptable at the moment for the last 4 years again despite efforts to change it.
