well the people delivering the drugs would get charges… and whoever is receiving payment from the AI’s work would also get charges.

Is it illegal to receive proceeds from crime if the crime wasn’t committed by a person? Isn’t this how we don’t get arrested for the crimes corporations commit?

He definitely embellished. “And the code worked too”. If you ask it to write 10 pieces of reasonably complex code, I bet 9 of them don’t run without modification. It’s impressive but for example, it combined code from different versions of libraries for a task I gave it and while the code read beautifully, it was more trouble than it was worth to fix it and use directly vs use it as a reference.

It was still useful but Peterson loves to spice things up

I think it’s mind blowing to be serious.

I understand it’s just a NLP model and people want to drag it down but no one knows if our brains are just NLP models …

For a non technical dive into understanding the philosophy of creating artificial intelligence, I recommend Ray Kurzweil’s “How to Create a Mind” where he poses the premise of the brain’s memory lookup mechanism as a branching pattern matcher, for lack of a better way to put it. Ray Kurzweil invented Siri and was last I heard the head of AI research at google . Big brains :brain: lol

The interesting thing about neural networks is they aren’t an algorithm in the traditional sense, and they’re also non linear. By non linear I mean there isn’t a direct , repeatable mapping function from input X to output Y . The training of the neural network adjusts a bunch of parameters in a vast array of parallel equations.

The short of it is, and with some hand waving, the algorithm is a black box

I’ve used it a fair bit - pretty amazing
Coding and other documents where format/syntax is important is somewhere it really shines.
It wrote a wordpress plugin for me with a single sentence prompt - gamechanger.
Also very good at writing summaries, SOPs, Letters etc - often better and always faster than I can write myself - I see it being a powerful tool for anybody who needs to generate written work.

After reading Microsoft was an early adopter (Billion) and Bing has been working with this project since 2019. I am interested in their expected launch in March of this year. Fully integrated. I look forward to the search engine battle of the decade. This will make Bing a significant competitor.

ChatGPT is already an awesome search engine, or rather an answer engine - similar to the short excerpts that Google generates.

Not perfect but already so versatile it’s easy to see how this is going to totally disrupt many industries.

Having watched the speed of evolution in midjourney over the last 6 months I’m certain Chat AI is the crest of the wave of the next thing after the internet.

Just knowing further how its vested interests are Microsoft/Elon Musk/other big companies-money houses makes me change my view of its openness

I am interested in open source alternative + server requirements to even scratch the surface in capabilities and understanding the size of their abilities with such massive databases and servers all over the world. It’s likely to be a unique upgrade for Bing.
