To @TheWillBilly 's point, the SOPs generated will only be as good as the detail of the request and the accuracy of the editor.
I completely understand how easy it is to get ideas–even concepts that you really understand-- from your head to the screen. The generated text gets people going and there’s nothing wrong with that. The unfortunate inevitability is that people without the knowledge and experience required to ask good questions and edit appropriately, will end up with bullshit SOPs and mayhem will ensue.
The technology, is still, only as good as the user.

That’s a very basic start to a first transplant SOP, but not specific enough to be good. What’s the ppm of the nutrient solution? Also, who roots in media then removes it to plant into rockwool? I’d put the cleaning section before the actual procedure and the notes section is redundant. 10x better than the AI one but built upon it’s foundation

Can I ask Why is it taking you guys so long to write simple SOPs? I can sit down and knock out the 10-15 Basic SOPs needed in a lab space in an hour or two, and if I know what equipment and work sechdual is being used I can crank out advanced SOPs in 30-45 minutes, I can’t imagine trusting an untested AI bot to write any of my Labs SOPs, hopefully SOMEONE doesn’t decide to sell ChatGPT SOPs and get someone/something hurt/destroyed, it definitely can make simple work faster but should be used as a rough draft toll at most and anything being used for actual work should be thoroughly inspected by a qualified individual

I dont think it would save me a lot of time writing, all of my SOPs… I definitely see first hand where it could help write a gummy SOP… It cant give you the exact recipe your looking for… but if you have a recipe it can certainly give you the basic steps to move forward…
There are a plethora of things to be accounted for, that you cant find published…
So therefore AI cant assist 100%

I think you’re missing the point that I only typed 9 words and it generated that. If you want to give it all that information, you could reframe my question like this: "Write an SOP for planting cannabis clones in rockwell, making sure to include: (EHO_AZ’s SPECIFICS).
Those specifics could be quite extensive if you want
…and then you want to run it by and human expert…or two. currently.
