what do you mean jar tech… I thought it was 6 stars wrapped in plastic left vacumed and left in a cooler Temp to homogenise…

your pressing to jar tech and then wrapping?

EDIT: Meaning piatella aint hash but rosin?

Think what you’re thinking, then remove the word rosin and replace with hash.

Hash → jar cure → wrap cure → magic.

*Don’t use just any plastic, use the correct plastic (FEP)

ok why not pull a vacuum and let it cure till magic skipping the wrap?

why would you pull a vac on it? that’s just going to boil terps. there’s no solvent to be purged.

you wrap it and jar it after freeze-drying to prevent oxidation and let it grease up. no need for a vac.

freeze drying is done in under vac to aid with sublimination. Ive been waiting for an opportunity to put a chilled stainless tubes in a regular vac oven with heated shelves. Its basically all a harvest rite is.
Anybody wanna donate some old vac ovens to the cause?

I understand how freeze drying works. that’s why I said “after freeze drying” lol

We are talking about what happens after freeze-drying. he suggested putting it in a vac oven rather than wrapping it in FEP.

And there you have it

well if you vacum it up Im guessing you remove oxigen, from the process, at least a bit…

I didnt mean pull a constant vacuum, I meant vacumm seal, sorry about that… that wouldn aid in curing…

I would take a glass containter, fill it up heavily to almost no headspace, and then pull seal shut and leave on a 5C shelf for a few months…

at least thats the idea Im playing with beside the plastic…

since im spamming about this… does anyone have a poor mans freeze dry solution… im wraping in gd parchment and towels to prevent oxidation and a hard oxidation from my current chest freezer drying attempts :))

In fact, for freeze drying, the material is frozen beforehand. Then, to speed up the process, heated shelves can be used.

I have a couple dry ice totes that I use for that, fill him up halfway with dry ice in go square buckets of flower then transfer to a deep freezer post transport. Now I’m looking into Simply making a cold water extract in the field/greenhouse/warehouse For production purposes the math looks great on paper. The liquid nitrogen Baroni units look pretty nice but I’m more into easy maintenance , cost of consumables, environmental impact and risk of injury while on a jobsite. I’ve made comparable product to pietella in the past but scaling it up to entire crops is my personal goal.

so… why not put that into a 30C rosin press…

piatella rosin going for 250€/g

why do that though? you can dab it just like that.
the heat from a press will just burn terps.

yeah i know.

but would be fun to see the % of squish. and analyse the result… and would it all squish and have nothing in the bag…?

although 30 C would do minute damage imo…but if vigilante one could filtrer that thorugh a few cat skins without damage…

but delving into this, one could use several temps to provide a slightly different profile… just guestimating…

What Im trying to say is this can be a really interesting vantage point to new worlds

The % of of the resulting oil return would be irrelevant. MicroScope a chunk some time and youll see that the cellular matter has really been dissolved and brought down to such a small particle size that micron separation doesnt do much. Youd likely just lose thca to the bag and volatiles to the air while retaining the same amount of contaminants

With some really high volatile content stuff, you could probably spin out some cellular matter though.
