Ceramic High Pressure Sodium

Yesterday I watched about a new style of lamp.
Ceramic HPS.
Has anyone heard about or used them ?
I thought it very interesting. Similar to when I wanted to use a red metal halide.
I believe it is new Tek.
What do people think ?

I think he shared this video recently:

Sounds like the Maxibright works on regular HPS ballasts, where as it seems like the hortilux needs its own proprietary ballast?

Cant find anyone selling the Maxibright yet.

They have to be run on a special ballast that has the E chip

Were buying them for the facility soon. Just have to balance the bulb order with EVERYTHING else. Lol. I’m planning to either checker board them in the room, or do the whole room in them

I have always been in pursuit of a red metal halide that works …
This might be " the thing "

We do have 2 identical rooms. I’ll do that, this way we can see true side by sides on the genetics

I subscribe to his channel, he’s very informative with led lights, and lighting in general.

I’d definitely like to try one of these bulbs.

@FicklePickle, not sure about the de bulbs, but I think the 600w ones can use ol hps ballasts.

It says in the description you can use hps ballasts for em.

@pangea, I haven’t found a us supplier either, lemme know if you find one and ill do the same.

Did you end up ordering these? I don’t think I seen you posting on the other light thread about them.

on hortis de cmh= great spectrum 60 000 lumens. On hortis single end blue cmh= 80 000 lumens. I just got one. It costs way more than the de version too.

hortilux has had single ended cmh that work on hps ballasts for over 12 years. its a great bulb but expensive. I may be wrong it may not be cmh, but the hort super blue rocks and is a metal halide that runs in hps ballasts.
