Centrifuge w fritted filter

5 micron baskets? How much volume do they hold? Sounds awesome

Currently only about 1 oz per basket, but reinforced baskets should be coming in soon is my understanding.

If your fuge has the swing buckets theres no need for those little tubes. You guys can spin way more weight using the swing buckets, saving you time and more output.

What are you using inside of the buckets? Looks great. Does the filter paper tear at the RPMs you are using?

Are those the 500ml swing buckets or 650? Or more? Are they stainless steel?

Also curious about the inserts but I bet @Waxplug1 could design a similar insert to his jar version.

What rpm you doing for these swing buckets?

Yeah that’s bad ass

I really just didn’t want to risk the buckets being made of something other than 304 or 316 ss… now I’m curious what it’s made from. Research time!

Oh you put like a ss bowl in the swing cups?

So if I’m not mistaken it looks like they’re aluminum. Which is def not good to be putting our solvents in. Now we need someone to get some SS buckets going unless they have those already? Anyone know?

Stainless steel cups might be a lil too heavy for the centrifuge. The baskets I have are 304 SS… maybe our 3D printing community members can print ptfe swing buckets?

Also by adding butane, a simple honey extractor for :honeybee: honey will be enough rpm to spin off the terps. You could use the big baskets and Liter sized jars for more weight by rigging the jars to the swing cage in the honey extractor. These extractors go up to 1300rpm and I’ve got my desired results with just 1000rpm

The catch will be how the rpms translate to Gs in that device. I need to look deeper into that formula, but @cyclopath I think has mentioned it before in a Panda thread or some shit.

Do you think the hangar section of the buckets could withstand the force being applied there? Maybe just a nice PTFE insert that won’t crush under its own weight.

You guys looking for ptfe beakers?

A little pricey, but these are the dimensions I’m seeing fit from this supplier.

Has anybody spun white extracts yet to see what the terps are like?

How fast are you spinning those mason jars? I just ordered a fuge with a 4 x 750ml swing bucket, trying to decide on what to use for my tubes/bottles

So far I’ve gone as low as 750rpm and it’s still working just takes more time. The ChemTek baskets work, rosin bags with the cap screwed on to hold the mesh bag in place work, and as you see a lil bit up in the thread paper filters will work as well just gotta get a bit creative in securing them. The butane is what is key to soften the extract first, thus allowing the sugars and terps to separate with low rpms

Too much butane dissolves, done that a few times lol

I was more curious how fast you have spun them. Would hate to see a jar break from the force. Corning told me their glass bottles were not suitable for the fuge.

I was thinking of trying to find something like this that was the right size

I’ve gone up to 2500rpm but the baskets started to fail at those speeds. The jars will hold up. When the baskets failed they shattered the jar as well but the sugars survived intact inside the basket. The fuge will rattle a bit like an old washer machine when that happens but nothing crazy

Dang, yea I’d like to avoid shattering jars
