I prefer singles reference standards over mixed. its a little more work but you also have more control that way and also if one sample gets left out or break you only lose one instead of 3.
Sounds reasonable enough to me.
I sure hope this is the last needed purchase

You need the individuals for establishing retention times, and generally you want the individuals for method development. After you are established, the mixes are really nice for control samples and calibration curve updating.
that shopping cart looks awful familiar lol
Are you using a USB to GBIP adapter on your 6890?
As to be expected, I’m having some trouble getting everyone to talk nicely
Edit: happy days:
Should anyone come across this in the future. For my instance, i had to install IO Libs 15.5, rebooted a few times, then configured the device as follows:
Okay so I’m about done for today. I need to get the gas lines connected, also need a small air compressor for the nitrogen generator. I also need to get the hardware to connect the lines up to one another. The hydrogen generator is fine to be stationary but i had intended to use the N2 generator multiple places and would like to keep it accessible.
Next step, i believe is to install the column, one of these:
Not sure if I’m going to need to change the other parts of the injector out, if so Ill probably be ordering some more parts
One day soon I hope to get a chromatograph
What do you use for your air input/compressor?
one of my GC’s has a hydrogen generator the other I use a nitrogen bottle.
looks like BSPP if anything, there’s no taper to the threads
G1/8 maybe?
That is a 1/8 inch swagelok fitting from the looks of it. Show us a picture of the hole, if it’s tapered then that’s it
Buy me dinner first
No hole. These are the connections off the generators and are somehow npt compatible when fitted to the gc
I had to buy 1/16 npt to 1/8 npt to fit over the fitting. Very frustrating when the side of the male end doesn’t correlate to the female end (I’m sure there’s another joke in there somewhere)
The npt adapter doesn’t thread correctly. Not more than two turns or so.
Well. Like dad always said. Enough duct tape (or plumbers tape) will fix just about anything
Yes something like this.
I use a Vacufuge from Eppendorf. It can also heat to 40c or 60c. That one here seems to have some additional option/settings.
For cannabinoids and terps, use the 35sil.
Yeah, but hydrogen is an escape artist like helium, so you really ought should get it right rather than use a wad of tape…
My first GC was used out of a dispensary, and they had gone down to the local welding supply when they hooked things up…not only had the clown tbere removed the flow restrictor in the regulator, they had installed a 12” flexible (and H2 permeable!) line to get an adapter they figured they needed.
I lost a tank of H2 into my shop, and I was thankful for the vents up near the ridge line…
Less of a problem with a generator, but still non-ideal
Edit: yes, i should have turned off the valve on the tank before leaving, and have religiously done so ever since…
I also note the high side pressure do I can evaluate for leaks in the morning.
Look kind of like this?:
Cause you need a nut and ferrule that looks like this to make it work right:
Can you remove this fitting from the tubing?
Yes beware @tokesandtinkery, do not put other fittings or you may have to change the whole inlet/outlet.
You better use copper tubing for the inlet gas as well.

To add to this, if you switch to copper tubing. Here are the Swagelok brass fittings you will need.
1/8" OD is standard.
Strictly off record… you can get both the fittings and tubing from hardware stores (if you are in the US Ace Hardware has the best selection). Just run solvent through the tubing before you use it and then dry with nitrogen (repeat until solvent is clear).
