Bvv "Stainless Steel Dutch Weave Sintered Filter Disk"?

Has anyone ever tried these? https://www.ebay.com/itm/BVV-316L-Stainless-Steel-Dutch-Weave-Sintered-Filter-Disk/303463192832?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D9ef76defb7574a19a633daa8c0107586%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D323971243960%26itm%3D303463192832%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DBVV&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A279d44f9-3ed0-11eb-a4d0-2a610f6ede2d|parentrq%3A6659ce991760a9b13c7c4532fff3e654|iid%3A1

If so, what are your opinions and your experience with them.

Surprisingly reliable where I’ve seen them in use. I’ll ask these guys again if it was the 6" or the 4" they ended replacing with it, but yeah seems to have worked well for them for at least the last several months. I think they end up being 5 micron though it’s not mentioned in that listing… on the bvv website they offer them in 1 and 5 micron options between 1.5" and 12" in diameter.

ahh, split id gaskets and a bit of screen!

Good to hear that. I just ordered the 1.5", 1micron disk.

I have the 1.5 1um one too. It’s great.

You should be happy with it

Sometimes it sucks being in AK… They won’t ship up here through eBay, and want to hit me with a friggen $63 shipping fee on the BVV website… $21 bucks for disk, anal raping for shipping

I’ve got the 3in in 1um. Love it. Just ordered a 1.5 1um also to add to the collection :heavy_check_mark:

Doing an eho filtration first time with the 5um disk and the 1um disk

Here’s my 5um disk nothing material wise, made it to my 1um

I don’t think these filer discs are a viable option for media filtration. It looks like a metal to metal seal where the sintered disc sits on top of a perforated plate. The reason we use welded sintered discs is to allow no where else for the solution to flow through other than our filter screen.

Honestly you could probably get away with multiple filter plate stacks with paper and a disc screen but at that point the price may suggest just using a welded sintered disc.

Cheers! :v::grin:

Trying it with activated charcoal on the 1um rn

It definitely works but I have to put it on hold cause it got too late to run the vacuum pump.

i use em down to 1 micron and still saw a dust stain on my lid stub leading to my .05 micron felt whiich shoulde caught that minute dust.

It’s best to prewet your crc with butane and use that first little blast of butane into the collection as an opportunity to wipe away all the fine dust that will make it past your shitty sintered disk

I don’t like how sintered disks and hard filters are synonymous with CRC. I honestly don’t use a crc but I have been making the swtich to sintered disks. I haven’t caught the point behind color remediation for bho when it’s already yellow…

I use magic dirt for EHO only.

Update: held up pretty well. Will check the d. E. Patty after it’s all the way done filtering. Uploading: IMG_20210323_115653.jpg…

So for reference it went from this

To this (first pass thru 5um, 1um and 0.5um at room temp positive pressure no more than 28 psi)

Then today it’s final pass room temp over magic dirt (1.5" of a. C. ~2" of d. E.)

Very light, nice and clear.
