The idea that everyone needs a closed loop to blast their little 1-2 lbs is ridiculous.
Have you have guys ever filled up a tank of propane at the gas station? Open blasting 101. Do they fill up the tanks in the store or do they do it outside?

I just want to circle back to the beginning and mention… I still don’t know if you’re open blasting or using close loop… but if closed loop be sure to distill those butane cans first!

I think this whole thing should be a closed loop system regardless of wanting to save butane. It’s just safer.

I had a closed column. Used to blast onto a Pyrex dish that was on top of warm water the whole thing near my dining room window. That’s when I was doing quarter ounces to an ounce. I felt slightly safe I didn’t feel as safe as I do now though. I was using a 6" bvv tube that was 1.5" triclamp. I was doing that from 2015-2018 and it was nice but I was bugging out every time I did it.
The moment I was able to purchase qps I started building a closed loop system because I was shooting too much butane into the amtmosphere, losing half my yield and panicking like a mother fucker. I feel safer and that’s just me.

Ive seen some closed loops that arent that safe because of the way people operate it. Also cheap parts like low pressure clamps, cheap sightglasses or uncleaned gaskets can put you in a shitty situation

But research and adressing those issues prior to use can make for a clean running cls.
I guess filling your car up with gasoline could be considered open blasting also. Probably why they say turn off the motor and no cell phones or smoking.

Lit up at the gas pump. Guy in the back seat reached for the lighter and created and ignition source. In central and south America you don’t pump your own gas. Its full service at every gas station.

In argentina my fam uses natural gas in some of their vehicles. Can’t imagine a self service station with that
