Badder is supper super easy. Pour into a Pyrex dish and place in heat(I do 85°f) till about half has sugared up. Then whip it with a putty knife for about 5-10 minutes. Nothing too much. Just an easy whip. Then place back on heat and wait till it fully honeycombs. Then scrape and squish together. For shatter it’s not as cut and dry. If it has too much terps it’s going to sugar on you.

I wouldn’t attempt to make shatter out of fresh frozen. Also that would ruin good concentrate. Years ago before many knew about terpenes if it didn’t shatter it didn’t matter. Now it is just the opposite. Not sure your market but terpy badder is usually more desirable than shatter.

I had a grower ask for shatter recently with some fire sugar trim. I told him it will most likely sugar out with in a few days. He sent me this pic saying they’re now jarring it and selling it as sauce lol

Agreed. A guy wanted me to run his material on a split and wanted shatter. I told him to find another extractor because I’m not going to make shatter. He said he didn’t know any other extractors. I told him it looks like you aren’t going to get any shatter then… he was happy with a wet badder I made him. He doesn’t ask for shatter any more.
Part of our responsibility as extractors is to guide dumbasses who don’t know shit about extracts.

Its such a pain for my set up any way let alone the transport/handling etc of everyone after me. Haven’t had anyone ask in yrs anyway. Much better options with same material than that pain in the ass
