bho extracting with cls and dry ice sleeve

What would be the ideal injection temp into the colum?

super cold solvent in my experience is frivolous, it does nothing to exclude waxes. Shoot for -40 that seems to be the sweet spot, it will pick up less water soluble junk.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot?

I was just about to run my 1lb CLS tonight and ended up not being able to pull any vacuum on it. The gauge showed no movement but when I disconnected the hose there was definitely a vacuum being pulled.

I double checked all the clamps and even took everything apart and put it back together and still no movement on the gauge.

I then pressurized with nitrogen to 30psi and the gauge moved and was accurate at 30psi.

So is the gauge broken for a vacuum, only thing I can think of was I used too hot of water when cleaning it.

I dismantled everything and brought it inside to test further doing dry runs to figure it out.

Also I’ve used the gaskets for about 12 runs now, is it time to replace?

Ive had gauge do this
…I emptied the PG/VG liquid that’s in the gauge then I think I cleaned with warm alcohol. Refilled gauge w VG PG mix and it worked great for lil while longer
Btw the killa has great gauges last time I checked for cheap. Be careful with the cold temps idk many gauges that like this

Yea, I got this CLS from Killa, so I’ll eventually hit him up for parts once I figure out what’s failing.

I have a feeling it’s the gauge itself, just need to play around a little more.

Without doubt it’s the gauge if the vac is pulling . the gauge hanging up. So do you get it really cold when running, I don’t think gauges like that. How long you had it?

I got it in October 2019. I’ve done about 15 runs so far over that time.

It’s gotten pretty cold over time, which like I said it’s my first CLS so I might have beat the gauge a bit with the cold.

Yeah scoop new one up. Think they only $25-30

Best gauges!! I’ve gone off of hfs, bvv and Chinese. All were garbage compared to the gauges @killa12345 sells

You can get bvv gauge on ebay for $10

Or you can buy one from killa that won’t break when you’re tightening it.

I have 5 gauges from bvv with close to 20+ runs on them. My system is insanely cold and I haven’t had one break yet. None of them broke while tightening either…

Then you got lucky 5 times or got 5 from the same lot. The 7 I ordered from them (2 of which leaked) the 4 I ordered from hfs and the 4 I ordered from China all broke during tightenting. I don’t like bvv @all. They cut corners a lot. They have some useful things here and there but they suck at packaging as well as maintaining consistency with product quality (meaning they’re hit or miss).

Ive ordered multiple from them 2 years ago n they still work. Also have some of killas and they are great quality

I just got around to testing it out. With the setup below in the picture I’m now getting a vacuum on the gauge.

I’m going to replace all the gaskets and try again today.

Yea, I initially ordered a dewaxing column from BVV before ordering from Killa, it was definitely night and day difference between how the 2 of them shipped.

BVV was just wrapped in paper wrapping. Killa had bubble wrap and taped up good it was like christmas unwrapping.

@Killa12345 has superior welds on his dewaxing columns as well.
