My problem at least did not come from a solvent direct bottle. I can say that at least.

i think the easier more legal question would be what grade gas do you sell???

Does the gas contain any BTEX compounds? and i hope you know sulfur is allowed in instrument grade butane…

Like for separating butane from benzene? I see some papers saying it can be done with membrane pervaporation. I doubt anyone here would find it economical to implement that process just for a one-off contamination like this though.

The big dog in the industry uses their multiple fractionation towers and skill to produce REAL C6+ free hydrocarbons for botanical extraction. Just make sure your supplier gets their gas from them. And make sure your guy has clean tanks, hoses, and practices. Simple as that.

…less than 1 ppm sulphur which means from 0 to 1. What is this scare mongering?

1ppm is detectable by odor, so your gas would smell like rotten eggs. For what i can only think are liability reasons, you can’t put 0 because there might be .1 or .6ppm which will not have an odor.

Exactly. Sometimes people ain’t smelling their gas before using. Then when their extracts smell like rotten eggs wonder where the smell came from and how to remove it.

While instrument grade allows 1ppm. You prey your tanks coa says ND

Benzene is non detectable in our instrument grade 99.5%+ product and because we decontaminate our cylinders before every refill to prevent the cancerous impurities from accumulating inside the cylinder, you dont need to worry about cylinder purity compromising your “clean” gas.

That’s why industrial guys are cheating you out of your full refill by cutting their diptubes short, they don’t want you to suck up the toxic sludge at the bottom of your cylinder. Have you ever felt liquid swishing inside your “empty”?

It’s simple math. We’ve been decontaminating cylinders for years before every refill because we care about people more than profits.

Would you drink “clean” coffee out of this mug?

For product liability reasons, you should independently verify especially if your supplier doesnt have COD’s with each refill.

Most of our clients, and many from this forum are passionate about purity standards and decontamination processes for instrument grade gases used in extraction.

Consumers should know too especially when industrial suppliers are out there negligently making people sick.

They all jumped in without any respect for people, process or product in the first place, why stop now?

With the cga’s new guideline put out last week for cylinders used in extraction, isn’t spot testing just playing russian roulette with people’s health?

MMMMMM i love bensene

All I wanna know is how is benzeno contaminating all these solvents?

Benzene is naturally occurring in petroleum. Could just be that this is a problem coming out of China. Vendors moving cheap Chinese gas and lying.
