Badder tek

when the time is right, stir stir stir!!!

So many nuggets to mine in this thread! :pick: :pick::pick:

I didn’t continue reading so I don’t know if it was mentioned but are you dewaxing? If not that could be the culprit right there. That combined with terp loss during recovery. Fats/waxes prohibit stability. Think cold butter. Also there’s a HUGE difference between 100f while solvent rich and 100f while not. Those are just numbers I know you’re running much hotter than that so at those temps it’s even worse

Step 1:

Depending on your run size in your collection pot, ensure you have a large enough mason jar/Pyrex to contain your extract. Don’t heat or purge anything. Set it aside, ideal location is a ventilation hood for safety, but not necessarily a must.

Step 2:

Evaluate how fast the extract crashes out. If your extract crashes out quickly, your extract has a low concentration of terpenes and if whipped too much during your first whip, you’ll likely end up with wax or crumble consistency by the time you’ve whipped the butane out of the extract. However, if your extract doesn’t crash out fast, you likely have some terpy extract and can whip it a lot with less worry about ending up with wax or crumble.

Step 3:

The reason for paying attention to how fast the extract crashes out is because you don’t want to wait until you have crystal build up on the bottom of the jar/Pyrex. Reason being, you’ll end up with live resin or almost a diamond and sauce consistency if you wait real long. If you whip it when it’s just starting to crash out, you’re able to nucleate the terpenes around the thc that will continue to crash out as the butane leaves the extract. Regardless, you’ll learn through experience that if you over whip anything, you’ll end up with wax or crumble, but paying attention to how fast the extract crashes out is the most crucial aspect to making badder in my experience.

Step 4:

Each extract is unique in of itself. Even if it’s the same strain. If your harvest team sends you bunk rather than some good buds for fresh frozen, or the bud was so good this time around that you end up with little sugar leaf/good trim from the dried material, it will largely effect your extract. That being said, if you end up with some super terpy extract that’s super wet from some great fresh frozen or great trim, don’t be discouraged if your first whip up turns right back into what looks like it did when you first dumped it. Stick to it and whip it up 4-5 times that first day and dial back on it as you progress over the next week or two. On the contrary, if your extract is super thick, and not very terpy, be very gentle as you work your spatula/stirring device into the extract. If you disturb it too much too fast, you’ll have the butane rushing out of the extract so fast it will bubble and rise like a bottle of soda shaken up and opened. It’ll come rushing out of the jar/Pyrex. You’ll have it happen to you one time or another not matter how gentle you are, but this is some advice to prepare for experiences I’ve had. All in all though, if you follow these steps, I can assure you’ll end up with some badass badders you can refine more and more with practice. You’ll be able to achieve peanut butter like consistencies, cookie dough consistencies, brownie badder consistencies and cake badder consistencies. I hope this helps you make some badass badders homie :call_me_hand:t3::facepunch:t3:

Any advice on purging those different consistencies?

Batter takes less 4 hours to whip. No need to wait until nucleation if you are making it yourself

Thank you for this. I have been having this issue constantly the last couple months and finally came across this forum. I run an MēP30 and we recently got a crude lab as well and bought the XT70. We use the MēP30 for dabable product in our dabable lab and XT70 for crude in a different lab. When the trainers came to set it up in December21 they showed us to run hot on the bigger CLS for faster recovery so we started running hot on the MēP dabable cls as well for faster recovery. In the crude lab I reckon it doesnt matter much because the terps will be stripped anyways down the road via SPD. Didn’t even think about the terps being evaporate during recovery due to high temp in the dabables lab:man_facepalming: I’ve been wondering why our oil has been thicker when whipping and crumbling at room temp during/directly after whipping. We did 2 runs yesterday lowering temp to 85 and it was a completely different consistency and much stronger smell when whipping. Bouta go in now and see what they are like. But thank you :pray:for this. Yall are awesome.

I also have been wondering why our diamond miners have failed since we started running hot (125f) and starting to think this played a role in them failing as well? We got fine grain like sugar when harvesting the miners both times and one of the strains usually always puts off chunky stones. Any input on this is very much appreciated :pray:

Okay so you’re self employed but you’re paid hourly? That makes as much sense as running 18:1 and why wouldn’t you be capable of that if you were running passive. A passive machine does everything a active machine can if ran correctly. The pump just saves on DI if you got it setup on a chiller.

Lmao replying to a year old thread nice. If you actually read it, it would make sense. I never said I was self employed and work my own hours. The post above that said I was wasting time and money. I asked why? And said maybe if you were self employed and work your own hours it matters, but since I’m paid hourly I wasn’t worried about saving time at all.

Is there a crime against reading old posts? If it pops up on my recent feed there’s a 90 percent chance imma read through it. And yea you claimed to be self employed but in another comment you said you get paid by the hour when someone told you that you’re wasting time…

Are you even reading? I sarcastically complimented the fact you commented on a year old thread to talk shit.

And

I never claimed to be self employed. I’d like to see that.

I’ll copy and paste what I just said, maybe read it again?

Absolutely beautiful. Hands down my favorite format of BHO

I love the wet wet badders

Tbh I had a jar of badder just like that not too long ago - I was reaching over the rosin to get to it almost daily

That you’ve got lbs of rosin and enjoy other extracts as a change of pace?

I like to separate and isolate the thca from terps, put inside bulk room. If a customer asks for badder I pull out some thca and some terps and re blend to the desired texture. Some like it extra terps some like peanut buttery.

Badder like the above is at the top of my stash/go to 95% of the time.
