The most secure phone would be on American made hardware but Motorola ain’t exactly American anymore. Lenovo got em thanks to Google. They tried for the American manufacturing bit and the moment Motorola saw a smidge of value they dumped it.
Anything connected to the Google Play store is far more at risk than the App Store.
Custom Android from the AOSP on your own hardware and you got yourself an expensive project but theoretically dominant for security.
Also we all know how politics in America is going…
Careful, Siri listens to you having sex. Who knows though maybe you have an onlyfans lmao.
Edit: TLDR quote from the article:
“The recordings were not limited to the users of Apple devices, but also involved relatives, children, friends, colleagues, and whoever could be recorded by the device. The system recorded everything: names, addresses, messages, searches, arguments, background noises, films, and conversations. I heard people talking about their cancer, referring to dead relatives, religion, sexuality, pornography, politics, school, relationships, or drugs with no intention to activate Siri whatsoever."
Then Siri knows how dirty it can be… ![]()

She shouldn’t be so offended when I curse her out!
I programed the name romper Stomper on my phone, so when it talks to me or give me directions or advice it calls me by my Christian name romper Stomper.
It funny how we sit here and debate nationalism when automation. Software. And robots will replace even Cheap/slave labor.
WALLEEEEEE!!!
I support local as much as humanly possible however what are you suppose to do when cheaper labor competes. When i made the nectar collector titanium tip I was 100% American made and sourced. When i sold the design to the original nectar collector glass blower. His style blew up and my company along with highly educated were the only 2 titanium companies at the time. China was still a year away from copies.
I was a nobody who designed stuff on paper. Hired a freelance drafter online. Prototypes with 3d printers at a time when they could barely do threading. Signed a none Compete because I didn’t even know about overseas taking my knees out. I just wanted to keep machining what became a world wide popular product.
I had other glass blowers call me that made their own nectar collector versions. I couldn’t patent it but I signed a non compete since I was 23 with 4k to my name hoping to make 30k selling Christian merwin the finished titanium tip we desiged. (quartz didn’t exist they were using Boro tip)
Soon other American companies sent my product over to China and before you know it. Shit products were coming over with gr2 laser on the titanium even though it wasn’t usually. Once they could get past the firewall and on social media it was over. They were selling finished machined product at what the raw material sourced in usa cost me.
I had to fly over to China. Visit countless machine shops. Found one facility who didn’t rip off my ideas. I made sure the metal test were done and even had our machine shop source/ship the titanium sponge to the melting factory so the bar stock metallurgy was constant. This opened a door ill never close regardless.
I made 30k off a product that has sold over 50 million worldwide.
When I started going to champs trade show. American glass expo it was a time when everyone was American glass pipes and bong only. Chinese imports were what they are now. I watched the guys who would get their entire draw of panties in a bench if you even breathed a hint of China manufacturing.
Elbo glass made stuff that sold for 300 wholesale and same exact everything by a Chinese glass blower is 15. I watched all these American only people go broke.
Well I won’t let my table go empty nor miss the opportunities I could had had to make 10s of millions
No shit, I was on a plane to Colorado with a Colombian friend. On the plane he starts asking me about the coffee. So I tell him how they have farms where the feed and harvest the beans. He was like lets buy them and we will sell colombian coffee shit.
Most Chinese steel is horrible, work on the manufacturing/wholesale side first and report back. Fly over to check the nickel content and manually inspect whether it’s graded within US standards, or just “Chinese/international” standards lol.
I love how the default response to anyone criticizing China is “well ______ that you’re using is made in China” - how is that even an argument? The CCP’s strategy is to subsidize companies to make cheap goods so their adversaries are more dependent upon them. This is for the companies that actually create products, not the hundreds of CCP funded US listed public companies that completely fabricate their financials. If you want China to takeover I guess it’d make sense to shill their goods.
From those points, to the belt & road initiative, the interment of the Uyghurs, stealing of our military IP, corruption of regulatory bodies, etc, I’m creating as many 100% American opportunities as I can.
In terms of everyday script kiddie exploits Apple is 100% the most secure - they pay out the most by far for bug bounties.
They’ve won battles, but not the war. Things will get interesting within the next few years… globalization isn’t exactly increasing in popularity.
You think the Chinese virus won’t have reprocusions?
We can all see American stainless welds and quality. It’s not comparable to any import. They’re very different in quality. I won’t question that, I also hope they continue. How many started with an 100% American lab? Or even closed loop? Short path? Roto?
I like that there are tiers to this industry and Americans are prideful and pioneering new products and setting industry standards. That’s fucking lit fellas. I love seeing American made. I just don’t question where you all started out and how you wanted to improve things yourselves.
WTF? 400 for a bag of coffee. That shit better have a oz of pure columbian coke in it
Ok exactly, lets talk about the little guys. Its not possible for innovators to build an entire factory off rip. When the little guys go to american fabricators, they are hit with massive moqs and terrible pricing.
If the cart farmer started at 5k, i would have no advantage over the current industry leaders and less people would have had access to the design
Not everyone starts with a lot of capital
I started out making designs for vaporizers and selling them to a Chinese manufacturer. Year or so went by and I had been helping Americans with their rosin press startups. One of them had a more complicated goal: hand held rosin press. Trying to capitalize on the cheap diy market making hair straightener presses out of arbor setups / irwin quick grips.
Got an autocad from my partner at the time and sent it to my manufacturer for prototyping. Third prototype in was a sellable product. Did so well we made a revision to the design and had it prototyped all over again until sellable in an upgraded model. By this time other companies had figured out how to get arbor style builds to our price point and it became a slower moving less hype product and the fire rosin finally started getting pumped out by not at home labs. China earned and created something nobody else at the time was able to solve because of the pricing in parts and labor.
I have also helped American rosin press fabricators and plate makers build their brands and product lines. They’re still kicking but the business model is hobbiest at best in 2020 unless you’re Pure Pressure. Nicer the plates the more expensive the product. The pump also changed things incredibly. BVA vs harbor freight is a huge price difference.
All niches are fun while they last.
So when you drink shit coffee does it make you not shit or is the shit you will have later be nuclear???
