I lost a potential customer to this recently. He was not used to terps. Just dark shatter. He kept saying my dabs were full of tane because they would bubble, then catch fire. I tried to explain how to use a fucking dab rig like competent adult…didnt work. Diamonds and sauce or applesauce is about all I make…its surprising how many people still have never seen this shit.

Wat de fucc is a cold start? Put your dab in the nail prior to heating?

That’s not the deal. A cold start is one way. A hot start is another. But…if you hot start hot enough to auto ignite terpenes when you try and dab…then…your’e doing it wrong.

Ever tried quartz dishes within enail?

Yeah. I have one here somewhere. I didn’t like it.

I like a full quartz banger.

I smoke a ton of HTE looks like dude is definitely getting it way to hot and the fumes are catching fire from the torch flame I suggest just shoot him a video of how its done lol

I just heat it till is red fucking hot and then wait until the heat feels right on my hand.

I feel like the only time I ever get my dab hot enough to turn into carcinogens is when I use a brand new nail. What would be the reason for this? Is it due to thw fact that fresh glass can transfer heat better than glass with carbon buildup?

I did the same thing as you for the last 2 years until I dabbed with some people who showed me a different method. I feel like I am more consistent with a cold start, and can easily add a little more heat if needed. I actually have a very different physical effect doing it this way. Since forever there have been strains, or just most cannabis, when smoked or vaped heavily, will close my throat and make breathing difficult. Cold starts, or a lower temp dab does not do this and has been life changing.

Yes, new quartz will transfer heat better than an old quatz banger having been through many many heat cycles…that’s my understanding anyways.

Mann I think u forgot to share the method

The method is a cold start. In a cold banger, load your dab, and then apply the torch. Once enough heat has been put into your banger, you turn off the torch and hit your dab. I was very surprised to find how little hear was actually needed.

I currently use a puffco peak for most of my dabbing because I live in cabin with a wife and two kids and its just more appropriate…the dab rig and torch live in the extraction shed.

Should I start with a carb cap on the nail or no?

I normally do so I can see when it just starts to smoke. If I don’t I get that fucker too hot lol smoke just floats out before I see it

Right on thats what I was thinking. What if we take big daddy dabs? Should I continue heating after I see vapor start tk evolve?

I’m thinking there won’t be enough heat to vaporize the rest of my puddle lol.

I’m glad you picked that up. Game changer for mobile dabbing.

You can always add a little extra heat though out for the big ones. You def can’t take too much heat back tho. I know from experience
