A great primer on column packing for RPLC

The paper describes a technique which involves centripetal force applied to the media as the column is filled with slurry and packed- has anyone here seen this method applied?

This is great!

Adding another great read, packing with vibration!

I had a column that developed some pretty bad channeling so vs dumping it all and starting over I borrowed a concrete immersion vibrator and did the same thing you would do when you pour a concrete wall. Drop the vibrator in and watch the slurry settle! In turn we got a better packed bed and gained some more volume which will increase our yields and give better separation!

This looks dry but it is in fact completely submersed in water.

Will report back with results once we add some more packing and button this back up.

I was always taught using c18 with pure water would lead to phase collapse and irreversibly hurt the performance.

This wasn’t c18. It was a polymer resin.
