Can you control a plate at a certain temperature with your cooling system? Or is it hot or cold?
With some basic automation yes, we can then set our temperature and easily control it. Currently it is a manual system aimed at as cold as you can get as fast as possible. The same for heat generation, just different conditions. Both can be automated and is where we are at with it.
Our latest advancements pretty much require automated control as it is too cold to see where the level is at by conventional means.
We have the 600 model. Single GD1. Our runs range between 42-47 minutes for five 10 pound columns. Can extrapolate from there.
Edit: This is also used solely for making CBD crude, just to be clear.
Iâm confident saying thats as fast as she can be run the way we have her set up. The guys at illuminated have advised us a second GD1 could speed things up in a couple different scenarios but not enough to justify the purchase in my opinion. The GD1 has been a god send and a pain in the ass. It is very efficient at what it does and saves us a TON of propane and time, but weâve had it break down several times from the mechanical seal failing and venting propane. Illuminated has done some mods to the our systemâs GD1 ditching the old wipers in favor of rollers and re-engineering the seal of the wiper. Weâve only had it fail once in the last 3 months. I will give Illuminated credit their techs Jeff and George ALWAYS answer my calls, late nights, weekends, holidays etc⌠and are generally very helpful in any kind of troubleshooting situation.
Edit: One will also want to be well versed with compressors and their maintenance when dealing with the corken she comes with as well. Absolute beast of a compressor but she must be maintained properly and I will give you this pro-tip worth its weight in gold LIQUID TRAP

I figured, theyâre very very very leakproof and designed to tolerate extreme pressure swings and temp swings
Theyre not rly expensive either, idealvac stocks an array of them- id probably throw a kf25 flanged rigaku superseal and never spend another minute worrying about seal failure
Edit: nvm about a stock rigaku superseal- the shaft fluid is too thin to tolerate high pressures, its meant as a vacuum seal and only holds 2.5atm differential.
The solids content of the ferrofluid determines the pressure holding capacity of the seal, so its a very simple modification to make at the factory- iâd reach out to Rigaku or Ferrotec and see what they would charge-
We started here but the supplier we contacted will not recommend the use with LPG and therefore cannot be certified. The seal we use is a UL listed seal used specifically for LPG transfer to 400psi.
All rotary seals must meet both 350psi service pressure and the supplier must confirm it is compatible for use with LPG gasses/liquids in order to pass certification.
Right, cause the liquid is typically a hydrocarbon oil base- doesnt nessescarily need to be though
You could use a flourocarbon oil base, and that should work fine
These guys can definitely make an LPG compatible rotary seal

We have a Behemoth R600 cranking out live resin⌠But you can also use it for distillate. It is a very versatile system with the TCS.
well yeah you can use any closed loop hydrocarbon system to make live resin or distillate.
a consistent 1000lbs per shift for just live resin/wax/shatter is a scale I have never seen before tho. thatâs why I assumed distillate.
edit: thats about 340,000g of wax/shatter or ~100,000g of live per week
5 Day work week:
1000 lbs per 5 day work week = 5000 lbs per week
5000 x 454 grams = 2,270,000 grams biomass extracted per week
5% yield (FF) = 113,500 grams produced per week (22,700 grams packaged per day)
10% yield (dry trim) = 227,000 grams produced per week (45,400 grams packaged per day)
20% yield (dry Nug) = 554,000 grams produced per week (110,800 grams packaged per day)
The machine is almost in limbo between small hemp and big cannabis.
I donât think one could even source 5000 lbs of decent trim a week in the Colorado Rec market. Let alone tackle packaging 100,000 grams a day ![]()

with an ethanol system going to distillate, that is even a tall task
but 100,000g of live resin a week?! Youâre gonna need 20 fun time employees just putting grams into containers, and thats just for live resin. Wax/shatter would be 2-4 times that.
No way on this part without a small army.
