Your ""SPD"" distilation head are long

theyre are 20cm long why do you call them short?

Bold of you to assume any of us just use one head. Let alone one variation of a setup.

American men have a different definition of short….. what seems long to you to Americans seems short :person_shrugging:

It’s just the conversion from metric to standard. Lol

So called “short” heads:

Standard so-called “not short” heads:

Second to last pic is a take off adapter I believe it’s called. Not a SP head .

Very astute observation! I’ll have to alert the nobel committee of your groundbreaking findings in the field of semantics.

Short, not tall. Length is fairly irrelevant here.

I think it’s time that someone takes their SPD head out of their ass…

First time I notice that summit research his glass wear is NS 29 couplings would have sworn they where ns24

That’s the difference in full bore to regular that setup specifically was full bore all the way through for better efficiency.

My rig s made by the Chinese lady are copycats but theirs vapor path is NS 34

Wich is great since you can then place a

Davies condensor wich in my findings works best yet allowing some form off laminar flow with not to much turbulance

Similar to the setup I have pictured in terms of laminar pathways but I had a similar open surface area like the one your have pictured above first for max surface area to allow for vapor path to be able to blast and bump past fractions with ease. Then the cold laminar coiled pathway after to ensure compounds that were not the fraction I was in were pulled past the collection inlet. Condensing it to another ball and then being re ran to ensure yields were there of course incase any mains blew past. had dual cold trap on it as I do most setups and this unit was set with a auxiliary pump for volatiles then I would change to the edwards 28 to rip into fractions, made running 100’s of liters of crude very easy

Summit’s vapor path is 34 but collecting flask coupling is 29

Was gonna say I remembered it being a 34/45 All the way through but the outlet for flask, then you also have the forever fun 45/50 threaded that loves to stick

what’s the length of your first liebig condenser?

lol that one was 1000’s of pieces of equipment & around 5-7 years ago give or take. I honestly don’t remember off the top of my head
