Your preferred way to clone flowering plants?

I know ideally you take clones while in veg, but once in flower what is your preferred way to preserve genetics from a flowering plant?

I usually grow from seed as I don’t have a dedicated veg/mom room. I have found a plant I’m really fond of and want to run her again. I’m currently 6 weeks into flower.

I know I can take cuttings from the plant now and get them to root. I can reveg those cuttings and can take new clones from that or even run those cuttings. I’ve read these result in really bushy plants with tons of branching.

I know I can harvest most of the plant, leaving some buds and fan leaves in the lower half of the plant. It will take several weeks to start reverting back to veg state, but once it does I can take clones from that.

Is there any benefit or drawback from one method or the other? What would be your preferred method in this situation?

You’ll have a much faster veg time taking a clone off the plant now as to comparative to having the plant dry back for days till almost no moisture is present then hit hard with a veg feeding and root inoculant as to drive your plants hormones back into wanting to perform vegetative growth instead of stack flower sets. The clone will root in a much smaller time frame as to having to reveg a plant. Take multiple lowers or “suckers” and utilize them for backing up the pheno, that way you’re still using those lowers you may be removing anyways if not using a ucl system.
