Do WFE machines have to be under a exhaust hood? I work in a lab that does not have proper ventilation and from what I understand is that distillations should be done under a exhaust hood. Is that the same for wiped film evaporators?

Its always best to have great air exchange. Keep everyone happy and safe.
We run a wiped film system and we plumbed the vac exhaust to the outside. We added a “P” trap with a drain to catch condensate and prevent it from coming back into the pump when we aren’t distilling.
I’m sure many here have better ways to achieve this, but this works for us.

Thank you for your input. I basically just have a hose right next to the vacuum pump and a grow fan on the other end sucking the exhaust out and I believe that should be good enough.
