Wiped Film configuration

Hi Guys! Just starting up the wiped film and had a question about hose routing.
In relation to my picture below, I realize that most evaporators have two evaporator hose connections for the outer wall (A) and two connections for the internal condenser (C). i seem to have six connections and was wondering what the (B) connections would be for and is it needed. if needed, what would be the running temp for it. Thanks in advanced

You have a heated raffinate catch. You can put it inline with the evap if you’d like or you can give it it’s own bath and set it to 140 to 180 deg C depending on the thickness of your raffinate (glass like EtOH residue vs. bho residue)

Aside from a jacketed feed section (which would be a fourth ) there are three jacketed areas. 1) the evaporator column (a), The residue section * (b), and the condenser coil (c).

All three areas require a separate heating/cooling reservoirs.

  • on a terp strip pass this is your product for re-distillation normally set at approx. 110C for both passes.
