As anyone tried to winterize in pentane? I have a feeling that it is indeed not the most feasible but I am attempting to run crude through crc and would like to save as much roto time as possible.
Tryied it. But in my trail quiet a bit was left
Since I winterize in methanol after and a layer of wax was still on the paper
What powders are you crc ing with with the pentane solution ?

Pentane will dissolve lipids.

Butane will dissolve lipids too but you can still “dewax” with it pretty well. But now that I think about it those temps I think the pentane would prefer to hold onto the waxes rather than the cannabinoids. It may work to some degree if your solution of pentane isnt quite so saturated like how pentane is normally used.
I use only methanol and it does a better job of removing room temp fats/waxes than etho imo. It makes the cold filtering go alot faster

To dewax for distillate

I would just use etoh or meoh if you’re trying to save roto time. I would use etoh if you don’t have access to a fume hood.
