Why is there so little variety in curing cannabis?

I dunno man, as I remember there was absolutely nothing appealing about the wastewater from each flush of the water cure.

So, WTF is this water cure nonsense? It had to have come from you guys in the pnw.

How’s it done?

Unless you had cannabis terpenes emulsified in your water. Then you could kill two birds with one stone. I have zero experience water curing but knowing how against it most people are makes it more enticing to improve upon it.

I wonder if a water cure using water after a fresh frozen hash run would have any benefit. Would be nice to have a use for it. I’ve had some incredibly dank smelling water after. Better than the best cannabis derived terpenes I’ve ever had

Great experiment to try with the fallen nugs from harvesting… not keen on the idea, but I’m all about trying new things

Do you think the lyophilized bud is disliked because it is dried too far? In theory you could retain substantially more terpenes because they’d be less likely to volatilize from a solid phase, but the combination of more terps and less water probably makes a wicked harsh smoke. Maybe rehydrating with something like boveda packets would be effective to avoid this problem?

I think its harsh because it hasnt been broken down a bit like it would have been if it was sitting in open air for over a week. Im not sure why u think more terps would be the cause of it being harsher. Imo terps always made things smoother. Add in 0.5ml of terps to ur next joint, the smoke is smooth as butter. Terping ur cig also makes tobacco less harsh

Hows it effect end product?

A half ml in a ~1 gram joint? That’s insanity

Ive heard of peroxide / h2o2 being used for water curing as well especially for bugs and microbial issues . Think about it ensures a totally clean and sterile flower ( if handled properly ) for people with comprimised imune systems . Your supposed to just do your first soak in it then use regular ro water . Also when h2o2 evaporates its just oxygen and water so very neutral . Its supposed to be super smooth as well . I use h2o2 in flower as a spray in a emergency for bugs and Pm works good KILLS EVERYTHING !

You’re probably killing your lungs man. Even if your joints were twice that size

does HTE mess up ur lungs? Theres some high terp content in that? HTE is always smoother for me than HCE

I came across this company at MJBIZ https://yofumo.com/

Terpene-infusion during curing.

eww no thanks. That shit happens enough with hemp and black market bud

That’s what I thought!

Probably. Terpenes break down to real nasty stuff at high temps. If you were doing a low temp dab of HTE I’d be less worried but high temps turn terpenes into all sorts of carcinogens and noxious chemicals. In normal amounts it’s a negligible health risk but 0.5ml in a 1-2g joint is an insanely high terp percentage. i wouldn’t make a habit of that personally

I’ve added a couple drops of terps to a nug then ground it up and stuffed it in a cone. 2 drops was more than enough. thing smelled like roadkill

A boat went aground off the Southern Oregon coast, 1980’s I think. It was stuffed with bales of high-grade pot. The bales were extremely waterlogged and the cove was somewhat inaccessible and it would have been a major undertaking to haul them out of there. The police, in all their wisdom, decided to drag them out of the cove with boats and fill the bales full of lead to sink them. They shot everything they had at them in a big shootout with the bales of evil weed. They sank.

For a while …

A couple days later, we noticed thet there was some odd debris in the waves and the scum line along the beach was looking rather green. BUDS!
We went and got a couple trash bags and danced along the shore quickly filling them and hauling them home. We found one partially intact bale but it was too big and heavy to move all at once. Took us 3 trips. The pot was reported the following day and the local police came to clean it up. Took them days and it was still rolling in with every wave.

We took the saturated pot (the only dry stuff was in the heart of the bale - seemed to be some kind of Colombian) and filled the bathtub with clean water. We cleaned out what small sea creatures and beach sand we could. We had a large garage and spread the stuff out on newspaper and set up numerous fans. We turned it over every couple of hours and in a week we were moving out pounds of wonderful, smooth, stony (seedy too in those days) pot that came with the story of its acquisition.

It seems most of the chlorophyll had leeched out of the buds. They were an interesting bluish with yellow leaves here and there. The only problem was the occasional sea creature or piece of kelp. We always told our friends to keep an eye out for them.

So I suppose this might be “EXTREME WATER CURING”.

Edit: …and this may or may not have been the version I read long ago.

I maybe a little lighter if it’s a non crc run, but only because it’s dried a couple days faster. It’s my sop now every harvest, but I’m not dealing with large amounts at all.

I haven’t noticed a huge difference in terps. And the beads don’t really smell like anything, so I don’t think I’m losing too much.

well grew out a colombian plant .
tried something old school on it.
i have driven a nail thru the stalk. then i will
let it dry in the sun. is how they used to do it.
they would drive a nail in stalk on north side of
plant and let die/dry in the sun. it should turn out
either gold or red we shall see.
file
nail pointed north.
file-1
then a week or 2 later was dry.
file-2
was pretty decent smoke.
file-3
was a fun venture i had always wondered.
