Who's makes the best Plant based Cellulose film used for making piatella?

There’s several brands we’ve seen being used.

What’s your favorite brand and why?

I’m curious as to who thinks makes the superior wrapping material and their reasonings why.

Cheers Cannafam I’m excited to see all the different opinions.

No ones got input on this? I thought there would be a bunch of people on here who would love to debate which brand makes a better film. The brands that make them aren’t coveted secrets a google search alone pops up like 10 brands off the bat.

I heard they were using the same sheet paper for printing new currency and they got busted in a laundering scheme.

Waan t even aware this is a thing

Could you please send some brand names of such product

Or links ?

This hashish foil is what I believe I’ve seen used by meltthewrld

Dude makes some great piatella wraps with that stuff

I’m curious about the lead content from cellulose paper.

Cellulose rolling papers consistently tested for high levels of lead. They also often have elevated levels cadmium and arsenic. I can only assume its the same cellulose paper used for hash wraps. I spoke with industry paper experts on this- apparently its due to lead contamination in the biomass(wood pulp).

Has anyone tested for lead?

FEP wraps tucked into a vac bag is fairly standard stuff.

Are they FEP wraps? the links provided do not specify. Thermoformed FEP is a good material(if you don’t care about forever waste), but I don’t think that’s what “hash foil” is…. Press Club is marketing them as alternative to turkey bags… which are fluoropolymer lined/coated PET or nylon.

@SupplyTheBrand called them Cellulose film… which is obviously different than fluoropolymers like FEP, PTFE, PFA, etc.

Oh man, I’ve been living a lie  I always thought turkey bags were polypropylene, but nope apparently nylon or PET. And working in commercial microbiological analytics has broken me in regards to environmental concerns, I’ll be honest.

Making no comment on press club products, just sayin’ FEP is what I use, and what most folks I know use for this.

Brands? Is Mcmaster-Carr a brand?

Oh yeah, the primary purpose of one of my mycology businesses was to train fungi on plastic and pump that into landfills.

Lots we can do, and personal responsibility for individual waste is one of the least impactful paths to invest in. It’s like saying “Oh geez, Coca Cola generated eleventy billion tons of plastic waste last year, let me fix it by buying a metal straw!”

No offense to those that push that message, we all have our crosses to bear I guess, but there’s definitely, factually, more impactful messages to push, and they’re all starved for funding :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have a box of these in my storage. I prefer parchment paper to these things.

The ultimate og, @Graywolf turned me on to https://welchfluorocarbon.com

They make beakers, bags, Petri dishes, cut-able and pre-cut films… and so much more. They are pricey, and don’t know how they stack up against Chinese fluorinated polymers cost-wise… but they are a phenomenal company.
