They are trying to eliminate the competition.
I don’t know about these clone groups but I quarantine all my cuts for up to 2 months to check for pest and disease. I did with cloners stuff too. Late veg for those now and I will post what comes to be. Good or bad. $5000 for a clone now a days make me think of lazy people that can’t germinate a seed and pheno hunt.

I’ve bought 20 packs of certain varieties before it 200 apiece and pheno hunted the whole thing wasting a whole flower room to find garbage. Seeds are lottery scratcher tickets at best.
Some clones are worth 100 grand if you’re grow as big enough in your market is right
