Who here has raised pigs?

Pigs will eat it when SHTF or really whenever. It still needs calcium acetate, gypsum and magnesium sulfate to be a complete organic fert.

I will have to get some calcium acetate. Been using it with the other 2 things you listed, agt and agsil

Thanks for the knowledge bro. I Always appreciate it.

I have a couple kilos to spare. Let things settle down at work and I’ll send you some. Just remind me in 2 weeks. Yes, set a reminder. Yes, I will mail them to you. Yes, fulvic acid is stupid in demand right now becoming less reliance on agrochemicals. Support your Dutch farmers.

These pigs love eating this mallow, our goats won’t eat it. The pigs have been going ham…

(pun intended)

I’m not a salesman. I’ve been growing for 25 years, medical for 12, and been writing off business for 10 years. Biostimulants are my side chick. Folks here still humble me.

Edit: I’m using Librewolf without HTML5 and the link doesn’t work for me.

Little update. Just secured a tamsworth gilt. She will be ready end of the month. Going with tamworth instead of red wattle for our ā€œbaconā€ sow

Going to breed her to the keeper of our two kune kune boars this next spring. We plan to keep one of the gilts from that litter and then get a Duroc boar to breed with it. Debating not even Adding in the Durocc since tamworth have a super fast finish time (5-6 months) already (and that’s really the only reason it was added to the ipp (firm my understanding). Basically the IPP (idaho pasture pig) but we are going with tamworth instead of Berkshire. You could call it the PPP if you will (pupparoo’s pasture pig). The more I think about it, I’m leaning towards no duroc. And if I want a quicker finish just back cross to tamworth again.

A few pics of her I got from the breeder

How could you eat this guy! hes so cute

My friends had a pig named Hamilton. He was a indoor pet the first 4 years. The last 4 years, he lived outside.

Found out we ate him on thanks giving. Was weird :man_shrugging:

Just was just thinking the same thing. Good ole brick top, they do eat everything its crazy

Just struck a deal on a feeder pig. 70lbs Berkshire cross barrow for 10 chickens. Hyped. Needed a friend for our Tamworth gilt we are getting. He will also be ready to butcher next spring. Which works perfect for us because the 4 kune Kune’s won’t be ready until end of next summer. Going to pick it up this weekend, still have to finish the electric fence for their area this week.

That’s a great deal!

People are seeming to love trading for chicken, at least for live stock

Haven’t had anyone say no yet. Lol

Another update. The electric fence for the new pig area is all set up, went super smooth. Did 3 rows of wire. I’m feeling confident now with the set up and am Going to add electric fencing around my entire property next, stop these goats and kunekune’s (they aren’t nearly as bad as the goats) from rubbing on my fencing. The last thing I need to finish making for the new pigs is their waterer. I have a temporary one I will be using for now, but for the long term one I plan to use an olive barrel and add the stainless watering nipples on to it. Then in winter I can just throw a bucket heater in it and be good to go.

Picking the feeder pig (Berkshire tamworth cross) up on Sunday and our purebred Tamworth breeder on the 30th. Stoked.

6" or larger pvc with cap on one end and nipple placed near cap works well. Can make 3 from a 10’ stick.

I’m gonna try to slide over there and get some pics before he wraps everything. This weekend is early doe season around here so it’ll depend on how quick my kid bags a deeršŸ˜‚

It’s tricky because they want to get in the water, especially in the summer.
