I haven’t posted on here in upwards to 2 years but recent improvements on my extraction/refinement SOP warrants finally making a post. Those who know me personally know I am perhaps the biggest critique of my own products, so it’s quite rare for me to make a post like this.
I would make the argument that I have the best CDT’s presently on the market. Not a huge variety at the moment since it’s a new process altogether but the quality speaks for itself. I’d be open to share some samples with members who are willing to post their honest feedback in return.
These are not terps I advertise on the website or anything anyone else has for resale. This has been more of a personal project to find the balance between quality, price-point, and scalability. Having personally seen almost** every CDT being sold right now, I would say that these are subjectively the best on the market that still maintain a feasible price point.
(** I have not seen @Thetetraguy’s terps yet but have heard very good things from mutual acquaintances)
Hello there! Im curious about a sample. I have actually done a few reviews on /r/terpenes using the same username as here.
Im not a company, but rather a single mmj user who buys thca in small bulk from f4200 vendors to mix with terpenes to use as dab.
I use a Dr dabber switch and a hunibadger for all my dabbing.
I’ve sampled 2 strains from vivimu, 2 from floraplex, 4 strains from clearnation and im currently going through hello terpenes elite collection of 15 strains. And 2 ht premium tier.
I have tried every Terpene in the market as you’ve listed over the last 5 years, yours included. Honestly was not a big fan of your botanicals but it’s what my company used until we moved to CDTs. It intrigues me that you are understanding of the matrix of variables to bring a product to market in the cannabis industry, and even moreso that you are critical of your own work when you know it could be improved. That’s honesty. I’m really intrigued to try them as I try and sample all the CDTs here.
To be transparent… I think any good producer like @Thetetraguy can make a variety of different quality terps based upon what customers are willing to pay for. Most of our terps are better than what I have bought in the market before we started making it ourself. And the price is substantially cheaper. I have had a lot of good terps that I’d only use besides mine from 3 other vendors on here that have also helped me get where I am today. @qma@terpenescali@Betroit
From HT i like the alt process stuff the best. Hydrocarbon/Rosin pulls.
From CN/CR, i generally like the bolder (darker) runs, and have a preference against waterclear from them. I typically formulate with neutral/pristine bases, so a slight impurity layer in the terp is actually preferred, otherwise that slice of the pie is totally missing, and flavor winds up hollow to some people. Think slightly closer to an HTFSE than typical waterclear. If you were formulating in a dirtier base, you would probably have a preference towards a more waterclear cut.
As far as strain selection, that’s definitely preference. I usually find the inhouse strains from CR to be impressive, as are the collab releases (unobtanium, etc). Typically, i try to avoid the sweeter cuts (runtz, gelato). Given none of these companies provide panels, formulation is always a bit of a guessing game.
CN usually has pictures of every squeeze.
CR usually has pictures of everything but the latest drop.
You could certainly attempt to pick out the darker ones from what’s listed, or email support, may be able to help.
Some of the waterclear can be equally as tasty, but on average i find slightly less refined stuff to work better. Ultimately what i attribute that to is the waterclear typically doesn’t have as much underlying cannabis tone, so if you don’t like that specific flavor there isn’t a ton of redeeming qualities left compared to something a bit more diverse.
CR is doing b2g1 but they dont have pics up, and cant find a support email.
Has anyone tried the alien OG from CN? been looking at it, and its nice and dark as well. I’m a huge fan of mac, kush, sour, but I like just about anything with a strong canna flavor.
Use the contact us form on the site, It’s linked in the footer.
If you sort by newest on CR, images are up on everything until wedding cake (about midway through page 2). Click into the listings, it’s a separate image.
Haven’t tried the alien, but speaking of sales CN is also running 22 off for 710. If you have a code (check email) single ml’s of the cheaper cuts (cake crasher, sorbet stash, wedding cake, etc) come to ~25 or so with shipping.
I see 3 new strains on the full spectrum line since I ordered, @MassTerpenes was also online here like 15 hr ago. Hopefully they picked somebody?
I was hoping they would select me to try something special and throw it in with my current order, but I got my tracking info today. It’s ok im excited to try the 5 strains I ordered.
If I end up liking some, I may have to pick up some of that GMO that just dropped.
Out of the 6 I tried, (5 bought, 1sample) it’s hard to pick a favorite. Hoping to try some others to find my cup of tea per se.
On another note: @MassTerpenes did get ahold of me about shipping info for samples, but I haven’t heard anything back since. Guessing either swamped or forgot about me?
Can vouch for cannarefined and clearnation. Both have fire terps. Can’t speak to alien og but everything I’ve tried (a lot lol) from both companies has been fire.
