I’ve been wanting to swap out the cmh for either the gavita 1650/1700 or the spydrX models. BUT a few buddies who pull major weight (60#/9.5wks) were running 630cmh the swapped to 1700 gavitas and absolutely hated the yield.

Do a mix of leds and cmh? Throw some UV in there somewhere…

Cmh (T9) have LOTS of uv. The t12 are double jacketed, so you loose 50%+ uv. I’m talking about Philip’s 315 cmh bulbs.
Reptile bulbs on a light mover work wonderfully for UVB😎

Ever snap a stem and notice the “knot” that forms where it repairs itself?
It’s the plant releasing gibberellic and jasmonic acid (a natural steroid) to repair itself. If that happens in flowering (about week 3-5) and it’s close to the bud sites, you’ll notice that those buds above that damage will be much larger then all the other ones.

Have you done any side by side clone tests to quantify the stress response on cannabinoid production? My hypothesis is that you’re seeing an increase in flower production with a slight reduction in potency. However, the number I like to use is mg/plant of desired cannabinoid, rather than just weight or content. I’d be curious if this technique yields more or less mg of thc per plant.

i always used to pinch em too. if you got a stretchy plant u can pinch to help slow it down too and keep a plant more compact

Starting off in the ole farmers cornfield since ‘96, then moving indoors in mid 2000’s. Moved to Michigan in ‘15 from Ohio.
I got some experience 
I’ve ran side by sides for everything from soul types, lights, nutes, light schedules, temps, RH, etc. Potency is mostly strain based. But, UVB definitely increases potency and trich production. Pinching for size and yield.
