Because I know!
You should start using some punctuation.
Not one to normally be like this, but your comments are hard to read without it…
And from a guy who has grown both kind of seeds, I prefer regular for the variation in phenos. That said, I tend to use more fem seeds for outdoor due to not wanting to deal with culling males (which makes my plant count unknown til they sex). I only do this due to being limited on space. I have had the same amount of regular seeds hermie as I have had with fems. If I had all the room In the world, regular all the way.
Not for nothing, you should be a lot less confident in your beliefs. Whether the pollen donor is a male or female, it’s exactly the same chance of using a hermie as a parent.
As long as you stress test your parents and progeny, and are ruthless in your selections, hermies shouldn’t be a problem.
Well it seems like you people just want to voice your opinion on which method of breeding is better. I just simply asked a simple ratio preference. I don’t see why we are getting into a war here over which method is the best while you’re doing whatever it is you do I’ll be doing whatever it is I do. If you couldn’t answer my question should just leave your comments to yourself.
Lol OK then (in no way was my comment combative)
I just couldn’t understand what you were saying due to your lack of punctuation.
Fuck off.
Have a good time with hemp!
Self pollen is herm pollen
You’ve really gotta read up on genetics. Environmental factors don’t change genetics. If the female isn’t a hermie, than reversing her with sts won’t magically add in the hermie trait.
If that’s what you need to tell yourself to justify hermie genetics are in the gene pool, then have at it.
Like I said, I’m not a breeder, but I’m sure I think like one when it comes to hermie pollen.
If you are saying fems produce more Herms , then I disagree.
Based off my experience (thousands of seeds lol)
I was a regular seed purist for the longest time…
Does the silver ‘stress’ it out?
Also, I’ve done this a few times with no issues.
@ExtractionCBD, I thought you actually staggered things a little bit when you try to make fem seeds.
And a little pollen goes a looong way, I’m not sure how less effective it gets over time. But when I did it, I have pollen I saved in the freezer for a few weeks, and when I painted it on some buds, they were filled with seeds.
Fems are fine with the right genetics.
Yes, you can get chuckers, but the vast majority of the fems I ever had didn’t have nanners at all.
Tbh, the best fems I’ve had are from the European breeders, the problems I’ve had come from the us breeders just throwing shit out there because it’s the new new
Half my garden this summer was fems.
Only hermies I got were from 2 pheno a from regular seeds (And they appeared to throw bananas very late, no seeds were found in material, noticed this while harvesting)
Never said “fems” at all in my replies. I said hermie pollen.
Again, true feminized seeds are sts/colloidal silver method.
Then my bad! I must have misread the above dialogue.
Sorry for misinterpreting things.
You’re literally the only person shouting hermie every third post in this thread.
You’ve already acknowledged you don’t know what you’re talking about, so why keep posting on the subject?
Thank you…
Sry for missleading the whole conv with the herime start…
I mean was to say true fems, sstressed witb silver thiosulfate to produce hermafrofite flowers in fems
The fems producing pollen will still have female chromosomes they pass on other flowers and themselves to produc3 fem offspring.
For restepping ur genetica make a controlled polination and if your a seed produce do my thing to produce as many seeds per plant posisible.
As seeds are from 19-21g /1000seeds this might be lucrative very rapidly…
Selfing doesn’t create carbon copies of the mother, though. So you still need to progeny test to make sure she’s passing on the traits you want. If your favorite traits are all co-dominant, you’ll never find her again by selfing.
Yes, good point, thanks for elucidating this concept. I hope I didnt lead to someone thinkin its a straight off the bat sure thing…
PCR and tissue culture helps alot though, just sorry rare EU seeds are produced this way.
