Hi everyone, I’m still learning about storage for hash and terpenes and had a quick question.
I’ve heard that amber glass containers might be better for long term storage because they block light. But when I look around on Instagram, I see a lot of people just using GL80 lab bottles or regular mason jars.
Is there a reason people prefer those? Is amber glass actually necessary, or is clear glass usually fine if it’s stored properly?
Curious what people here usually use.

Anything to block UV rays will always be better than clear glass. I suspect everyone buys clear glass in their labs b.c. of the cost
That makes sense. From a cost perspective, storing them somewhere dark might be a lot cheaper than buying amber jars in bulk.
Most of our clients use the aluminum bottles for the terpenes, and the amber GL80 is also a good choice for block the UV.

I’ve been looking into different container options lately (amber GL80, mason jars, aluminum bottles, etc.). In terms of GL80, I’ve usually seen people go with regular glass more often than borosilicate.
Do most people prefer aluminum mainly for UV protection, or are there other advantages as well?

I do resell some lab & industrial gear, but I’m mostly just curious what bottles and packaging people prefer for terps/hash.
