What is Fomblin Krytox FPE for a vacuum pump?

I’m looking at used vacuum pumps on ebay for a prospective SPD and found this alcatel 2021 refurb that has “FOMBLIN KRYTOX FPE PREPPED.” What does this mean and what is it for? Here is a link to the listing:

I did google it several ways and searched here and came up short… I thought about asking the seller but figured somebody here has heard of it

FOMBLIN KRYTOX FPE PREPPED (DOES NOT INCLUDE FLUID)

Seems to translate as: “We got it ready to put decent pump oil in it for you…”

Although rather than just guessing, I suggest pushing the wee button that says “contact seller”…

I believe that’s means this pump has been set up with the oil that’s got the best protection against aggressive harsh chemical vapors.

Maybe it’s set up to be used in extra corrosive environments. I think the Alcatel pumps are kinda geared toward corrosive environments, I think edwards are built with vapor handling mostly in mind.

Leybold says the same thing, called them and asked and you can run regular oil ( good regular oil) in them

Krytox FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - Industrial Uses

Do I need to do anything special before using Krytox in bearings?

Before adding Krytox grease to a bearing, the bearing should be cleaned of all existing greases, oils, or preservative oils used during storage. If hydrocarbon oils are left in a bearing, the oils can form carbon deposits at high temperatures that may accelerate bearing failure. Please ask for “New Bearing Preparation with Krytox Lubricants” for the recommended cleaning and repacking procedure, as well as guidance on how much grease to use and speed considerations.

So: “we done cleaned that shit good so you can use the expensive pump oil…” seems like a valid translation.

Chances are the process resembles that documented here…
