Isn’t the quinoïd the product of this oxidation ?
Or is there a precursor before ?
I thought this happened during the process itself.
I believe that the oxidation of the CBD occurs before the reaction to some extent. That oxidized version is then isomerized to form other oxidized Isomers.

Turned out to be a ph issue- ended up with a VERY basic solution
