Water Rights, Who's got em?

As a hemp farmer one of my biggest concerns is obviously water…I have known this for a while now, but I’m just curious if anyone else is aware…

If you live in Ventura, Riverside, Los Angeles, or San Bernardino counties, and you extract 25 acre-feet or more of groundwater annually, you are required to file an annual notice of your groundwater use with either the State Water Board or a local groundwater agency. Please contact the State Water Board at (916) 341-5402 for assistance in determining whether you should file with the State Water Board or with your local agency. There is a fee associated with filing your annual notice.

So the way I read this is if you have a well, commercial or domestic, and you don’t extract more than 25 acre ft a year, you are not required to do shit. Pretty awesome considering in the same desert, 3 hours away in Pahrump, Nevada, 1 acre ft of water rights cost me almost $8,000.

Something to think about if looking for property in the Southern California area.

Why is this in the echo chamber?

Edit: I only ask because this seems like something that’s a valid topic.

Yeah, I just wasn’t sure if you put in in that category or not.

Apologies if that came off jerky by the way, I thought someone put your valid post into the echo chamber for no reason.
