Long time lurker, first time poster. Been in the industry a few years and am working on a Hexane Salt Water Wash to get “Water Clear” and we’re finding that the oil will oxidise pink or purple. I think it’s because of the pH and I’ve had some friends of mine recommend that if we dissolve the oil in ethanol, test the ph and then alter it until it’s arouund 7.1 then we should be able to prevent the oxidation.
For those that have tried this, what’s everyone’s experience with this?
