After running 2k pounds of material through my closed loop. I tested the waste and it’s still reading 20+% thc? Does anyone have insight on what’s up?
Either you have a poor method of analyzing or you found a pocket of oil that didn’t wash off the biomass
20%?! How high was it to start.
All the coas varied from 28%-5%… but I legit took the sample of waste from the bin we send off just to see… and it came back basically the same. I was yielding around 14% on average.
Retest your waste steam
The most parsimonious explanation is that the lab that gave you your current COA was guessing. I have had 19% THC returned on 16% CBD flower
They either mixed your sample up with someone else’s, or pulled a number out of their ass
Try re running a batch see what you yield.
So I’ve tried the double wash and it was super low yeild.
All you can do is all you can do. Based on test results our ethanol extractions are 90% effective. The rewash doesn’t fill in the blank and is pretty nasty, in my experience.
I’m not familiar with butane extracts far as residual solvents go but with Ethanol any residual solvent left on the bio after it evaporates almost leaves an oil that was in solution as residue can spike a potency result in an almost misleading way. We’ve got 5 massive dumpsters being hauled away weekly lol
Then perhaps your representative sample was not representative…
How big was your sample?
Did you take multiple (30) 10g sub-samples, then combine and homogenize (grind to powder)?
Then send 5g in for testing?
Or just a single 5g sample to represent that 2000lb?!?
The former is more likely to get you something approaching reality.
Better would require you send three samples from that homogeneous mix you made.
To three different labs
is that “best”?
or would that be doing it your damn-self?!?
Waste biomass being tested by the local ground dwellers. Bout all I’m good for these days…a pointless off topic post
Gotta love the hills, i have a ton of very happy worms eating lots every week.
