We are lacking glyphs to convey sooo much…

Here is my 20hp VFD setup to run a 10hp, 240V, 3-phase motor on 240V single phase input.

It’s for running a gas compressor.

I feel like a mad scientist every time I throw the 60 amp switch. lol.

The VFD works great so far. It has a slightly annoying whine from the cooling fans but it’s not really a big deal.

I also got a nice “remote operator station” which is a small panel with on/off buttons and a potentiometer that I can mount near the collection pot.

For now I’m fine with it just mounted on the wall and using the up/down arrows to control motor speed.

my latest toy (centrifuge) came with a 600V 15HP VFD with a bluetooth remote.

don’t think the boss was super happy with me referring to it as a remote self destruct switch

Lol, nice.

So far I have been very happy with how the VFD has been working out. I know they are somewhat new on the scene these last few years and are a great piece of technology, especially for running a 3 phase motor on single phase power.

Bluetooth remote would be sweeeet as long as there’s no “line of sight” issues in the operating room.

If I initiate the remote self destruct sequence, I will definitely be in line of sight!!!
