Unplugging spent biomass from BHO columns

I think you’re the one I got this from! I could remember who, but now I’m pretty sure it was you.

Made cleaning my tubes out so much easier.

I hope with the drill your leaving your tubes outside for a few days before unpacking.

A drill with outgassing columns with solvent is an accident waiting to happen.

If you just use the dog spike 6” at a time it takes no time and your safer.

For sure. Probably it sits for a month before I get to unpacking it. I just do it for a hobby and to know my stuff is clean. I don’t get to run tubes everyday like you big boys.

Appreciate you looking out!

I use a the back of a pool stick that got left here by an old friend. Why did he carry around a pool stick you ask? Well fuck if I know.

I’ve always used a long piece of rebar, drop the column down on it

Bad idea huh

Or using an explosion proof vacuum pump at the very end of the run (post pour out) and vacuuming down the column from the injection port and the recovery port with a manifold for like × amount of mins depending on material column and collection pot. Or one could have a double shut off and take off the column and vacuum down the column for × amount of time depending on material column size with an explosion proof vacuum pump and one could also put an injection port on the bottom of the said column and use a manifold to vacuum out the column both from the top and the bottom of the column.

If you vacuum the bottom know theres a chance you would suck in liquid butane.
Or you can just use a recovery pump and save the butane (ideal)

I suggest maybe getting some rags or towels dipped in warm water and then wrapping the column and building a little pressure and you could passively recover the butane from the column into a tank then suck out any residual with an explosion proof vacuum pump

Personally i use the pump to recover to -5.
By the next morning its at 30 psi. I recover again. Empty. Annd run. I still feel there is enough residual for a drill to ignite. I just use the corkscrew without drill. Usually clear the tube in a min or less

Air compressor works the best

Good luck doing that in a facility

You just need open jacket column, fill w denature alcohol or acetone once it’s cold from dry ice, after injecting drain the liquid w the plug. Then load it w warm water. You can then recover the saturated fuel out of ur biomass this way

Am i the only person who still uses traditional tube packing minions with a good old trusty broom stick lol . Maybe i shall get them the cork screw things for christmas ! Lol

Best $1.99 youll ever spend. No joke
Ive used it for 4 in to 8 in columns. Works for every size. The larger the column the worse it works but still works. Even if your using minions. Time=💰

Blow it out with nitrogen, literally takes about 5-10 seconds.
