I scored this whole stack for $3200 Canadian, shipped to my door. The seller had no idea on troubleshooting or what was wrong beyond plugging the units in and taking pictures.
I took some videos of the repairs i did, and uploaded to youtube, as theyre too big for here. I know finding any information on repairing these units is difficult, and honesltly i had to rely on my own experience for the repairs and not a service manual or anyone elses repairs to go off of.
If anyone has a need in the future to troubleshoot or repair these i hope this helps.
Autosampler repair
Pump repair
Ill add more videos if i find more repairs to do as well.
Dionex (pre thermofisher) was always solid, as well as the Chromeleon software. I don’t think I ever used any of the Dionex brand that was manufactured post Thermofisher acquisition.
If you are doing any other repairs and have any questions, shoot me a DM. Happy to help just out of fun, we had about 20 of these in a lab I used to work in and I’ve taken them apart and put them back together enough I could probably do it blind folded now.
Im waiting for some new eluent bottles and filters to arrive before running all the tests on it, im sure one or 2 problems will surface for sure.
I really enjoy working on Dionex older gear. Ive finally upgraded my old setup to almost top of the line for the time. I only lack a sample temp control option now.
They sure look badass together haha. I just got the sample prep syringe for the AS50 and i have yet to program a sample prep routine, but having computer control now via chromeleon 6.11 and DXlan is going to help a ton on that department.
It’s all in a past life in terms of having analytical equipment. I just like to insert myself into other people’s analytical equipment because it’s definitely fun to get some of these older systems up and running.
