Does anybody have any real-world experience using UHMWPE syringes or fittings with distillate / terp mixes? Do you notice any chemical compatibility issues? We are set to begin some in-house testing on syringe plunger materials for a super-long-life syringe system, and just wanted to get feedback if anybody had any.

- There seems to be more data available for PTFE vs UHMWPE in terms of chemical compatibility
- For the most part, compounds that are given a “good” rating for UHMW are given an “excellent” rating for PTFE
- Certain compounds that may mimic terpenes are given a G rating for UHMW and an E for PTFE, examples include: Lavendar Oil, Olive Oil,Parrafin wax and others
I’d suggest PTFE—but regardless of my suggestion, getting accurate chemical composition and comparing with compatibility charts is the only
Way to know.

UHMWPE will be fine for distillate syringes.
Agreed
Edit: @VapeJet if they’re long term why not go for glass/stainless w PTFE seals?
