Sand works ok for fungus gnats.
When I do organic soil, I use dryer sheets on top of the root ball if there is an outbreak. Just remove them when you feed.

Wollastonite works very well as a top dress for gnats. The glass like shards cut up insects
I believe it also acts as bonus sillica overtime. Idk how effective overal, I never added sillica.
I believe sillica is said too toughen up cell walls, and that way it supposed help against pests.

When I see pests my favorite thing to use is the dumpster.
if growing outdoor you can always have a row between your rows that have predatory insect safe havens made of plants, weeds and or things like kale that attracts those little devils… then for example, the aphids would be attracted to the kale and not the cannabis. then your lady bug larvae, mantis’, parasitic wasps etc live there too and they’ll have a buffet before they even see your plants.
i’ve had great luck with regenerative farming techniques using alyssum flowers, crimson clover, kale and alfalfa in between my plant rows. gonna try and implement it over the whole crop this upcoming season.
