Get a diesel mobile home at minimum don’t get a sprinter. You want space and that’s not enough for sanity imo. The payments should be well under rent payments for a decent sized RV.
I lived in a van for a couple years. Well In a van and hammock. It was alright.
Pickup and camper or fifth wheel would be my go to. Still have mobility with the pickup, but a few amenities with the camper/fithwheel.
I would probably try to get a payment on a nice. Pickup and buy a camper cash. Just my take on it…
Obviously this is if you have somewhere to park this that’s not charging an arm and a leg. But In my area it would be totally doable due to the amount of public land that’s fairly close to town(albeit small). Just move locations once every 2 weeks-month and you wouldn’t get bothered (again all area dependent). My area would be a bit rough for a couple months In the winter if you didn’t I’ve a spot to rent for those couple months that was plowed. Warmer climates would be a breeze.
I had a friend who lived in a bus at the grow he worked at, it was a ways out of town and he said they actually liked having him on site all the time. He Lived in that lot for a couple years.
My buddy @gemini can barely find somebody to insure his sprinter. They want tons of dough because it wasn’t built with seatbelts or some BS. They claim it’s commercial and not a passenger vehicle
In Florida you can insure anything.
Just tell them it has seatbelts and every other safety equipment.
Same where I’m at in WA.
Probably different on the coast though…
The problem comes when the insurance company runs the VIN to give him the quote. They keep coming back with “this vehicle is uninsurable for a consumer. You need a commercial insurance policy.
The only loophole we could find was if he uses it for agricultural use on his own farm then one company would insure it
My old maroon 71’ parked at my old grow in Virginia circa 1994
My old blue 74’ camper. Fucking pancake motor had dual carbs I could never get synced up.
My 59’ kombi I restored while living in Spokane circa 99’.
Loved that bus, but had to sell it to start a company back in 2009.
Maybe one day I’ll find another to work on
Edit: our friends baby girl loved that bus. She’s 24 now and is a dirt lovin hippie
I’ve had about 12 vw busses over the years. If you stay good and stoned they actually are pretty fast vehicles
Nice! Not to far from me.
Where at in Spokane if you don’t mind me asking? I work in Spokane quite a bit so I know it pretty well.
We lived in Hangman Valley mostly. Moved away in Fall of 2001
Dang. Wish I would have known that!
Dual webbers were the shit when synced, when not worse than a single port. I wish I kept my bus instead of my Baja bug.
So true. I converted it but still had manifold leaks which caused backfires…bent valves etc.
The interior was bone stock and in cherry condition. When it ran good it ran good, but keep tools handy.
My 59’ was tits. That’s the one I miss most.
Cant sell 3k lbs of boof anyway. I would have ran too lol.
