Heyo,
Was gonna build myself a couple of cheap reactors out of some conical fermenters on Amazon.
I need something to stir my stuff up. I’m basically looking for a slightly smaller version of a drywall mixer.
Needs to be longer than a standard handheld baking mixer. Something that will fit inside this:
https://www.amazon.ca/FastFerment-Plastic-Conical-Fermenter-Floor/dp/B00SA5VLQE/ref=sxbs_sxwds-stvp?keywords=fermenter&pd_rd_i=B00SA5VLQE&pd_rd_r=2ac683b5-79bb-45f9-8591-b585b6f54707&pd_rd_w=bt74S&pd_rd_wg=PPQJF&pf_rd_p=bfff3d65-6819-413d-909c-b46ff443d96b&pf_rd_r=13T0MX7DEP39XWKJ8KSG&qid=1557283631&s=gateway
But yeah, something that might be able to reach 1-1.5’ down?
I mean I could always go on Craigslist and find a cheap drill and put an elastic on the trigger. But I was hoping for an ever so slightly more elegant solution.

An overhead stirrer might work. I’ve seen some 500mm stir shafts.
I wonder if the $100 ones are any good.
Or just take one of the mixing shafts, attach it to a motor, and then you probably need a speed controller.
The drill with a speed controller may be cheaper and easier.

I mean… I guess a drill is $25 from Craigslist. Can’t really get much cheaper than that.
Also…
This is the most wholesome drill ad I’ve ever seen

How will you apply heat or cold to the vessel? How will you pass the shaft through the vessel and maintain vacuum

Just using it for basic room temp LLE and brine washing right now.
Will likely upgrade to a reactor when $$ is less of an issue
