I currently run Redrock rockwool due to convenience and pricing. Anyone that has used it is aware of the high pH issues it has. I’m old school and I don’t personally use substrate pH meters. Typically fertigating in the high 4’s pH gives me runoff of 6.4. I try to run it at a max of 6.4 pH runoff. We a currently running an all nitrate mix, so that also contributes to pH rise.
I run Fe and Mn very close to 1:1. Both all edta because I’m cheap. Typically they end up being the same ratio in tissue samples also. So, I’m not seeing manganese induced iron deficiency that happens in some cases. I also make it a huge point to have more K in tissue than N, the K can mitigate Mn toxicity.
I’ll have to see the materials and methods on the Mn study when they publish it. But if it’s like a lot of cannabis studies where they run piss poor macro ratios that won’t work in the real world, then the data isn’t very useful.
