Is this basically the plant version of bacterial horizontal gene transfer? I wonder if this would fit into the current discussion about tissue culture which has a few tools to allow direct trait manipulation. In other words: siiiiccccckkkk
kind of. although there is not a lot of horizontal transfer between plants. its more a built in mechanism for creating diversity. and it looks like the cannabis genome, certainly the part responsible for the magic happening in the trichomes, is set up to provide exactly the kinds of variation we’re looking for. makes me wonder about a maker…
