The different ways to decarb rosin for vapes

i’ve been doing 1oz of cold cure or fresh pressed hash rosin in a 16oz mason jar with the lid not fully tightened at 212*F in a ambient temperature vacuum oven at positive pressure until it goes fully transparent (anywhere from 2-4 hours, longest was around 6 hours), then into the freezer for 1-2hours, then on a heated magnetic stirrer and straight to a cart filler….. but i’m going to be switching things up and i don’t know what to do….is a diamond miner really necessary and will it help, or is a spool with tri-clamp fittings, pressure gauge and PRV sufficent? or is it the same as pulling vacuum in the oven with jar tek? or should i create that system from anonymouse post A Theory on BHO/Rosin Decarboxylation with Natural Terpene Preservation - #26 by CuriousChemist22 ?

I’ve read about centrifuges but came to the conclusion that it doesn’t seperate enough terpenes for it to be worth it and you can just recondense the terpenes by putting the sealed container in the freezer after decard for 1-2hours…..???

Also for temperatures… i’m coming across 245*F for 45min 110*C for 110mins, 80*C for 12hours…. but what truly is the most efficent that doesn’t slows down the process, darken your oil, or degrades terpenes and retains the most terpenes and gets you baked instead of buzzed??? What temps would be best for negative pressure and positive pressure? Should headspace really only be up to 20% max before it becomes counterproductive due to Co2? What are the best specs and best equipment? Does being under negative pressure make the terps more volatile at lower temps and degrade them if exposed to high heat and prolonged time? Would it be better to be under positive pressure for that reason?

160f. burp it. Keep headspace. Done. 2-3 days.

over exposure to heat is damaging. I actually believe using a larger diameter vessel is the trick to large batch decarb. Aka = 12in collection pot/spool and not 6in

Also a trick for capping your carts after you fill them if you wanna just stay filling….just throw 25 of them in a positive pressure vacuum oven at 150-170* for a couple mins before you cap. But don’t let them stay in there long or they will get micro air bubbles and then you have to keep them in there till they go away and I believe that degrades the end result.

Are you asking people for help or telling them.

I’m not asking for help. I’m throwing information that I already know and have experimented with. We work with hundreds of units of rosin and have only begun carts. So we have experimented allot.

Just trying to find out what the best things people have found out to be.

The faster you can do it the better. What you recommend will detriment color and is not efficient. I’d rather go 215**F for 1.5-4 hours in 16oz mason jars 1oz ea than do bulk at 160**F for multiple days.

I haven’t tried 245 for 45mins tho. So we will do that and report back.

Also going to experiment a bit with spools/diamond miners and negative pressure temps and report my findings

So asking for help.

I don’t have the energy for this forum today

Why would you burp it and lose terps? You’re supposed to condense the terps in the freezer by not opening your sealed container and putting it in the freezer if anything and you’re using jar tek, just don’t screw the lid down all the way and that relieves your need to burp without losing as much terps. Then just tighten the seal when it’s done and throw in the freezer for 2hours.

Thanks bb. I’ll get the deep fryer ready for the reheat

Reheat? The carts I’ve made taste impeccable…. Putting them in the oven after they’ve cooled down to150-170*F for 2-5mins doesn’t degrade quality of something that was only decarb for a few hours vs the same temp you suggested for multiple days.

i was just wondering if people have had luck decarb large batches quickly and efficiently like small batch jar tek

just keep doing what you’re doing. Lol

This sounds better to me for the color of the material after decarb vs cooking it at 240f. Thank you for the concise tek I’m going to try this vs the extra heat people suggest

That’s a recipe for leaks in my experience. I don’t think vac ovens really hold pressure either

No problem at all my friend. Volatile terps do offgas but at way lower of a rate than torching it will. Idk why the fuck people speed it through. I mean christ people take a quarter of a year to start a grow before it gives results…why rush the post processing if it took that long you know? But i guess not a ton of people grow and extract so that sense of time sunk and getting a proper result isn’t weighing that heavy.

Honestly this site has turned into opinions and thoughts and misinformation rather than supplying supportive results with real test results….. I’ll do side by sides of all the techniques and upload the final COAs

You aren’t going to fully decarb doing this. You will end up with bubbles in your cart

Luckily they’re clear as day. I have already made loads of these. this post was mainly to help people and maybe some real ones chime in with real results. But it’s okay. i’m still here to spread the truth and not make it harder for everyone else. This forum used to be cool

if you didn’t know… if you get bubbles…you let the cart sit for a couple days in room temp and your bubbles go away

I have a proprietary SOP and equipment that will repeatedly and reliably decarb 99.9% of present acidic cannabinoids, preserve terps, and will pass safety inspector scrutiny, that I can sell you. It took years of trial and error, tens of thousands in equipment expense, and repeated testing to develop and perfect. No one is going to just give that sort of tech away anymore.

But if you read the forum, you can probably figure it out for yourself for free.

Doing that uncapped will cause leaks

i guess i am using o2 tops. so no leaks happen
