Thinking about upgrading the setup and adding a surge vessel. Is it as easy as just adding another collection vessel and having correct CRC column size and media amount. The collection vessel is 12x36 so I was thinking CRC 6x18, still have to order everything (new collection and CRC columns). Also when running a serge vessel are you able to stack runs over days without thca forming around lines and clogging? a lot of times when I come in the morning there will be diamonds forming in the bottom of my collection and when I go to pour it out there is thca clogging the pour valve and have to stick a dab tool in it to unclog it and usually get hash all over the pyrex and it gets messy smh
Leave it suspended in butane while in the storage vessel if rated for it that way doesn’t crash out
Word, I usually try but sometimes I guess just too much thca/resin. and I’m more worried about it happening in a surge vessel because then I can’t just stick a dab tool in it when its time to pour since it would be clogged inbwtween collections? if it did build thca I’m saying
Canu draw it out? No idea what a surge tank is in your mind. I’m thinking it’s a bypass tank? It will likely be dilute unless you are evaporating from that tank.
serge vessel would be me adding another collection vessel to the one I already have, same size, removing the CRC i use currently and having run go from material directly to collection1(serge) then I stack multiple runs on top of each other then run all of those non-crc runs thru new crc (that I still have to buy and put together), then have that go into collection vessel2. right now I’m doing every run thru a crc column so instead of 2-3 runs a day I could get 4-5
You’re gonna want to keep it wet like @stoned said. Redissolving can be a bitch. I recommend using a dip tube as opposed to a drain valve because it is easier to not clog the diptube, should you accidentally recover all your solvent.
damn lol that’s funny, diptube was brought up when we were all talking about this but the tank I’m looking at is from oss and I don’t think I can just add a diptube. ya it sucks bc the whole collection gets heated but that stem of the drain valve which is where all that thca sits smh. Only had a couple of unsafe ideas of how to melt the thca that I’m not gonna do lol
You really don’t want oil depositing in that drain valve. Not sure if you need a certified vessel or not but a dip tube can be added pretty easily. I recommend a bhogart tank for certified or glacier tanks for parts.
I have the exact same problem, i just add a lil iso at the end of everyday to keep my pour spout clean.
oss should be certified I think? well shit I might email them tomorrow and ask what’s up. but yeah all my spools for my crc are from glacier. so I’m thinking of building this 6x18 column for this surge vessel experiment would you recommend bhogart for crc filter setup? I was looking at what bizzybee had today and that’s what we use now and its real nice but a little pricey wondering different options
lol it sucks I’m just trying to get the disssty pour. yeah ive just made sure to really clean it when it sits overnight
Bhogart is expensive nowadays. I’d just get a flat bottom for your tank and make sure your dip tube reaches pretty close to the bottom of your 6 x 18. That flat bottom adds 4 inches to your depth.
Here is a 15 inch dip tube
And here is a 21 inch dip tube
Those come right from glacier to nice, so yeah looking at that but still have to buy new filter for crc and was looking at this one from bizzybee or if there’s better options
Never used those but killa and waxplug have cheaper options that work great. I use the ones from gochemtek.com
damn they sold out of 6" but killa has some available most likely go that route. Good looks🤙
The bizzybee ones are way easier to clean
